all about sounds...

Featured Replies

the NGX soundset is the first ever in a flight sim add-on that I find basically perfect right from the start. I have spent years fiddling, modifying and redoing almost every soundset that comes out because of the primary errors that sound designers make that may not be real jet pilots like myself, that fly these things almost every day.... Most problem areas - not enough or non-existent wind rush sound (PMDG got this right)no touchdown noise enabled (by default, many aircraft don't have that line entry in the sound config)-or- using touchdown sounds too big in size, that pause the sim when loading (not PMDG...right on!)engine sound too loud or too quiet... this one is perfect and should be masked with the wind above about 220 kiaspoor reverser sounds based on MS default coding where the sound plays at a steady volume, stops, then reloads... horrible...but somehow, PMDG has done away with this, I don't know how... and actually plays the sound at the right rpm lvel and even has an idle reverse sound... wow!! all for now,

+ When useing multiple then when you click on the screen with the cockpit (Below the screen with the windows :-D ) All sounds except engine sound disappear (Please fix pmdg :-D ) But it is awesome sound. :)

its not a bug, its because parts of the sounds are loaded externally (afaics)

Wow. Calm down there. No need to spam the forums...Based on what you're talking about (multiple windows), that sounds like a limitation with the simulator, and if that's the case, then the only bug you can go chasing is one with MS. I could be wrong though.

Thanks Peter! Glad you like 'em! Patrick - please show some restraint!!!!!!! No point hijacking another post with something you have already mentioned somewhere else - didn't we fix this for you now in the hotfix? :(

The sound set on this addon is one of the best I've had the pleasure of experiencing. Currently I am replying to this post onboard Delta 2119, a 737-800. The similarity with the sound is uncanny. Good job PmDG
