August 19, 201114 yr In my humble (IMHO), all users who are legitimate owners of the NGX have their own right to post a question/reply in this forum. It is a sad reality that NOT ALL NGX pilots have read all flight manuals from cover to cover... Imagine reading more than a thousand pages of the PDF document and getting nauseated in the middle of the process... It is also a sad reality that some people just post in the forum just for the fun of it posting useless and worthless materials - some UNRELATED to the NGX. But it is up to the Forum Admins to clean up things here...For me reading and going through the forums at least every day is a good learning experience, learning from other pilots as well... August 19, 201114 yr I think it's absolutely a great learning environment and anyone who takes the time to look at my true post history (if you really have nothing better to do ) will see that the only time I have ever flamed or taken someone to task is when they have been bullying or belittling people. I have paid my money for the NGX just like everyone else and there are a large number of topics I (and other like me) have contributed to which are, of course, to do with NGX. I have never made an unprovoked criticism on this forum and I never will. -- X-Plane, Mac OS, XSB
August 19, 201114 yr Even if someone DID read all of the manuals, it would be ridiculous to remember everything that one has read. I don't know, but I would bet that some scientific studies have shown that most people cannot remember more than 30% of what they have read, and it is probably less for technical manuals. I find it hard to understand why it gets some peoples' shorts tied in a knot because a newbie asks a simple question. A psychologist that some people feel that it is an intrusion upon their territory or something like that- or some might say that it is just a way for some to loudly proclaim their superiority (and therefore demonstrate their feelings of inferiority). August 19, 201114 yr I beg to differ... If you look at all of these posts, it's not just the U.S. The community has poor memebers worldwide. Agreed. That's one of the best things about flight simming. The community. Only, it leaves a bit to be desired here in the U.S. Trevor On topic, there are good ways to ask questions and bad ways. Accusing a company of laziness, accusing a company of conspiracy theories against customers and accusing a company of "bugs" is just poor form and SHOULD be removed. In a lot of cases (not all) had said person RTFM, they would know some of these answers. To clarify, IMO: "Hey I turned on the standby power and then turned it off and the dome light was still on. Is this normal in a real 737?" Perfectly fine and the answer is not readily accessible."I'm having a real problem putting in FMC INTC points while doing my STAR. Could someone help me?" In the manual, BUT a real call for help. Perfectly fine! As opposed to: "This bump on my plane is a bug. I didn't spend $70 for a buggy plane. Fix it.""My topic was SO helpful and needed by the community. Why can't the company be bothered to answer what I posted? It's a conspiracy!" "I am the Master of the Fist!" -Akuma
August 19, 201114 yr Commercial Member My 2 cents: People should be more tolerant. The world is a huge place, and if someone asks an apparently dumb question, it is for the reader to refrain from posting rather than blasting them for doing so (and what right does the person replying have to do that in the first place?). It shows total ignorance on the part of the person replying in those situations; the person asking the question could have some medical condition that either prevents their understanding or means they get more frustrated than most people would in that situation. They also failed to consider that a book only tells you something one way, and if that way isn't quite right for someone then their only recourse is to ask someone else to explain it. I really think more people should sit back from the keyboard and THINK, before pressing the REPLY button. Sure, some posts are obviously made to cause a riot, but again the reader should just refrain from hitting REPLY. Those threads will surely drop down the list in short order if people just left them alone. Best regards,Robin.
August 19, 201114 yr Excellent post. @ Aladdin, you are an utter, utter imbecile. So you've narrowed it down to six people who monopolise the forum have you? Please, I know the irony of this will escape you but you are actually doing the thing you complain about. As to your question about whether I've helped people answering questions, well I guess English may not be your first language... Ignorant and childish. Keep posting kid. August 19, 201114 yr Please enlighten me, point me to somewhere where you've helped someone. No, please, I really must insist, if you're so good at everything you can find it. I have other things to do now. People on the forum are asking questions I think I can help with. -- X-Plane, Mac OS, XSB
