August 23, 201114 yr I've had two incidents where I was arriving in Chicago (MDW and ORD both) in the NGX and the traffic would be totally gone in the entire airport. It will not show up unless hit CTRL+SHIFT+R to reload UT2. Is anyone else having issues?Btw, this doesn't happen in any other aircraft. Jacek G. August 23, 201114 yr No problems here and I just did a flight yesterday to Fly Tampa's KMDW. The only thing I can think of is that maybe you hit the key combo that turns off or resets UT2 traffic by accident while you were flying. Also make sure you have UT2 set up to not remove traffic based on your FPS. JIm Jim Wenham
August 23, 201114 yr I had a similar problem, The traffic was there but all that was visible were the wings and lights. I turned off "Aircraft Casts Shadows On Itself" and all is working ok now!! That's with the NGX of course!!
August 23, 201114 yr Commercial Member The NGX does absolutely nothing to UT2 - I run it myself just fine. Ryan MaziarzFor fastest support, please submit a ticket at http://support.precisionmanuals.com
August 23, 201114 yr I totally agree with Ryan. I'd had that periodically occur before NGX came along. Chris Hicks
August 23, 201114 yr I read somewhere that it is a simconnect issue, it is random, there is no fix unless you want to reinstall, and sod that for a game of soldiers. I just cntrl-shift-R and then all is good. Sometimes the pipe bursts, and simconnect has a hissy fit. Not everybody will experience it, it only started to happen to me running EFB on a network PC, and with ASE, so in regards to simconnect, it is like putting a 50 cent piece into a 20 cent slot. Edit: Remeber now, it was a while ago, I asked about this on the EFB forum.
August 24, 201114 yr Yea, UT2 works here without trouble, although EFB and simconnect apparently have issues as Julian pointed out. My proof of UT2 working just fine is my landing at KAUS last night only to be greeted with no parking spots available, lol. The joint was jam packed, heh. Scott Burns
August 24, 201114 yr I have had that happen too Scott, late at night when flights start to wind down. Had to park on the cargo ramp.
August 24, 201114 yr How is UT2 on frames....looking to get a traffic package but am not willing to give up much performance... Steve Giblin
August 24, 201114 yr How is UT2 on frames....looking to get a traffic package but am not willing to give up much performance...Excellent. Bear in mind, depends on your slider, I run @ 100% but I am using an o/c SB @ 4.5 and a GTX580. I found the models better than Mytraffic X, and I use shockwave lights on all the aircraft. It's great. There is lots, I mean lots of threads in the avsim forum on exactly the same question you have asked, so it can come down to personal preference. ie, MTX has military and cargo ai, ut2 does not. I think the models in MTX are naff, not as good as UT2. I also mipmapped all the ut models, to ellimante blurry liveries from a distance. Hope that helps.
August 24, 201114 yr I have had that happen too Scott, late at night when flights start to wind down. Had to park on the cargo ramp.Heh, I had no space anywhere. I ended up changing FSX time just a bit so the schedule would still have some departures...I had landed too late I guess, lol. How is UT2 on frames....looking to get a traffic package but am not willing to give up much performance...I have a creaky old system; however, it's not doing too bad with UT2. I run things right at about 40% and a couple hundred aircraft and it seems to do fine at most airports. At larger airports, I might have to decrease the rate a bit to avoid any choppiness, but otherwise, it's pretty good. Scott Burns

I had a traffic program a few years ago with FS9 (I think) and it caused slight pauses while the traffic updated...Drove me nuts. Steve Giblin
