September 1, 201114 yr Hi,I would like to know how many failures you get with this menu active?Right now I have about 100 hours on the NGX. What could happen if I turn this menu option on now?And how big is the chance of getting some real serious failures like engine flame outs etc? If this is turned on, do you get failures on every flight? Questions over questions, I know, but I'm interested in this because it's promising to have the possibility of unexpected failures, but I don't want them on every flight, so is this option good for me? Edit: 1 Last question: Does this menu care about the livery I'm currently using, or is this option counting the whole hours I have already collected with the NGX? Greetings from the 737 flightdeck!
September 1, 201114 yr Hi, i've flown now some 68 hours with service based failures on from the beginning. Until now only CMD A autopilot refused to work some time ago. Gerrit
September 1, 201114 yr Author Funny, but my CMD A has refused working also without the service based failures on! Greetings from the 737 flightdeck!
September 1, 201114 yr Funny, but my CMD A has refused working also without the service based failures on!You got a warning or it just didn't engage, cause you have to meet some requirements in order for Autopilot to take control, like you don't have to be applying pressure on the controls and the aircraft have to be trimmed. I didn't get any sort of warning. But the strange thing about that was that CMD B was fully functional. Even when B was engaged I couldn't switch to A. Greetings from the 737 flightdeck!
September 1, 201114 yr I didn't get any sort of warning. But the strange thing about that was that CMD B was fully functional. Even when B was engaged I couldn't switch to A. Maybe you broke it. Happened to me on one of my first flights, when I caused autopilot A to disconnect - and break - by making a large movement of the yoke. This scenary happens even with failures disabled. Took me a while to figure out why B worked but not A Tom Risager NGX tutorial: http://library.avsim.net/sendfile.php?Location=AVSIM&Proto=ftp&DLID=162360 SIDs & STARs Worked Examples: LOWI-UUDD, KSEA-KLAX, EKCH-ENGM, YSCB-YPAD
September 1, 201114 yr Commercial Member I do not need to turn on service base failures. It just happens on its own with this thing :) that doesn't make sense Alex Ridge Join Fswakevortex here! YOUTUBE and FACEBOOK
September 1, 201114 yr that doesn't make sense I think he means because of all the uncommanded/ undesired failures people keep having. Mitch Bowman Mitch Brown Private Pilot | Aerospace Engineering Major
September 1, 201114 yr A question regarding this.....will the NGX work its failures routine if I fly every flight with Cold and Dark panel state or do I need to load up Last Saved panel?? Ie do the failures and wear and tear reset themselves when loading Cold and Dark or do the flights still count? Will Reynolds Flight Sim Addict
