February 27, 201214 yr Are you asking why you have to turn of A/T or why you have to set 160...? The top of the same page reads "At this point I suggest that you deviate slightly from real-world procedure and disconnect the autothrottle": I have to say I also wonder why... But anyway, since you don't use A/T anymore you will have to do manually what A/T would do. On the third picture on that same page you can see that 160 is the flaps 5 speed (well, almost). Since A/T is off you have to get there manually in order to go to flaps 15. Later on in the tutorial you have to set the other flap speeds (152 for flaps 15) and so on.I personally see no reason to disable A/T so I always leave it on...
