Hey all,So I completed all the checklists in toms tute, started the plane up went to the external view only to find a stationary beacon light??It was just a glowing red, but sometimes it was off?Any ideas?Also on the roof of the NGX next to the beacon light there is a raise in the fuselage? I know this is part of the 737 800s, but what's is it? And how come it only showed up after starting the engines?

I had this problem, it usually happens when you load the flight from a saved situation.Restart the sim would do fix this.

Maybe the SATCOM Antenna for TV, Internet and phone. There is and option in the cdu for you to turn that on or off.

I have this same problem no matter how many times I reload the sim then choose the saved flights. I can not turn the SATCOM antenna off or move it, the beacon lights are stationary and the landing lights do not appear. Its not a big deal because the only time I choose a saved flight is for approach practice or after one of them dreaded CTDs' but it would be a nice addition to SP1 or SP2.

The Satcom is there all the time if selected in the options menu.

It may not be the SATCOM.. it looks like a dome... its definately not there when the engines are off wha a pain about the beacon light... ah well

It is the Satcom. you may have an issue with your install of the NGX. It should not vanish with engines off.

In my honest opinion, this problem is related to the size of the repaint textures and your available memory. For example I get this problem with any repaint textures that use more that 100megs of space vs textures that use 70-90megs. I get this problem using the Jetblue repaints (120megs) vs the Delta repaint pack which is around 80 megs regardless of whether or not i start from a saved situation. Test it out for yourself im almost certain youll come to the same conclusion. Gideon Warde

Hmmm the dome I'm talking about is towards the front of the plane!! Will try and work out how to post a screen shot!?If that's the case I'm giving up on sim because my computer has so much memory and processor power it's not even funny!!Knowing my luck your probably right!!

The satcom can be at the front or the back you can choose when it is working as it should.

Still no workaround with the stationary rotating beacon? It is a nuisance to me because I expect it to work like it should.

i have the same problem with certain liveries. the red anti collision beacon cannot be switched off and the logo light and the rear strobe dont work while the solid anti collision light remains on.on loading the acft, the light is already on.i will try to load with another acft and then switch over to the ngx to see if that works. any advice appreciated
