Freeware Feelthere EjetsV2 Repaints for FSX

Featured Replies

Other than the repaints that come with the purchase of the EjetsV2 package from Feelthere, does anyone know if there are any freeware repaints? I found several files that stated that the repaint was compatible with FSX, but the textures were bitmaps and not the dds files. They did not look very good on my system. Thanks!

Digital Storm purchased 8/17/2011; Win7x64: Asus P8P67 Deluxe; Intel i7 2600K@3,9 GHZ; nVidia GTX 560Ti; 8GB DDR3 1600 Corsair Dominator; Power Corsair HX 750W; Samsung 850 EVO 500GB SSD; 300GB WD VelociRaptor; 1TB Seagate.

I think the Feelthere Ejets textures simply are bmp files , also in FSX!This is due to the fact that the plane originally has been adapted from Fs9 to Fsx. Nevertheless a very good simulation! Guy

Don't be fooled by the whole .bmp and .dds thing as far as FSX is concerned. The only difference between the two is the way they are "packaged" so to speak, meaning that .bmp's come in a differenter wrapper than a .dds file. However, the texture sheets inside the .bmp can be of the same quality as a .dds file and just because something comes as a .bmp file it won't neccessarily look better or worse than the same texture converted into a .dds file. The only thing that makes a difference is the quality of the artwork on the texture sheet inside the .bmp and the resolution be it 1024, 2048, or 4096. Look inside of your FSX/texture folder and you will see all kinds of .bmp files being used as well as some assorted textures that come with REX are also in .bmp format.

Quality is about the same, but to my knowledge dds files load 'a little bit' faster and give also a'little bit' better frame rates in Fsx. Guy

HelloThat is not correct, they are completely new models with separate interior and exterior models compiled for FSX.a quick look in the MDL file will show this.MDLXMDLH

Attached below is an FSX screenshot of a recent EjetsV2 aircraft I downloaded with bitmaps. Why is the top half of the aircraft darker? Is there something wrong with my settings?

Nothing wrong with your settings. Bottom line is - with this plane anyway - fs2004 repaints wont work. http://www.feelthere.com/22_embraer-e-jets-v-2-embraer-175-and-195.html?product_id=22 Bottom right hand corner under ''recommended products'' is what you need. 16 bucks.. Rolling%20Eyes.gif The reason it looks dark, is that there is a small difffrence in the Model..so the paints wont work, meanin if you want more paints...you got to spend money....typical.... And to my knowledge, Feelthere didnt release a paint kit...so they got you by the balls.Mateusz Stabryla, from MK Studios, released a home made one, but im 99% sure its for fs2004.
