Latin VFR's KMIA

They need to patch things up with Oliver to get AES support.
We have initiated contacts with him, and we should have our future sceneries (and past) made compatible. All depends in his availability.
Wasn't there a small part of FlyTampa in the LatinVFR Key West? happy.pngDon't worry, all guys involved found an agreement and solution on that thing (I guess) and it was patched in 1.1. I'm really looking forward to a detailed KMIA in FSX. I wouldn't call it urgent in any way, but the project already seems to be close to release, no?One may also add that LatinVFR really matured on a large scale in my eyes. I always liked their releases, but the later ones are really ahead of the older stuff.
The scenery is not close to release, a lot of work still to be done.
Looks below average compared to most other scenery. Slightly better than Blueprint. I'll wait for FSDT or FlyOrlando to do it well.
I would agree if we release it today as it is, but as I said above, it is still being developed, Work is in progress.
I must say that indeed with KEYW they made a huge step forward. Some of their earlier sceneries were very inaccurate. For KMIA they still have lots to do for as far as I can see, but Ricardo says that it'll hopefully be out in a week weeks - which worries me. The problem of LatinVFR is usually that they tend to rush things. That's the problem with all their sceneries. If you look at what FSDT does for KLAX, or FlyTampa for KBUF, you see that why it took them so long to make these airports. I always fear that LatinVFR cuts corners in order to get sceneries out the door quicker. It usually means that sceneries by them turn out less good that they could (or maybe should) have been.
Thank you Benjamin, for your comments, I can assure you, LatinVFR won't release (nor send to beta testing) a scenery that lacks the quality of payware. And we are certainly fixing things as we go. We have a very different work schedule methods and way of working that allow us to do a lot in short time, but we understand your concerns, and for KMIA you won't see anything "rushed". We are shooting for a November release, that's because we have already estimated considering the work left etc.
Nah, to be honest I haven't messed with KEYW since the night I mentioned it, or for that matter even flown there. Actually I have never even flown to or from KEYW. Ever since I got KEYW it has been more or less a scenery I have been trouble shooting and messing with and have never actually done a flight into or out of it. I think I got so tired of trying to fix it up and figure out what was causing the FPS issue that i got tired of the whole scenery and have never returned to it. Beside the fact that since the NGX came out I have been busy flying it and haven't even messed with tweaking sceneries.
Oh Sean, I have tried to contact you so much, but there is no way. We have since then released KEYW 1.1 and performance wise, its WAY better by all standards and all comments/feedback from all the users who had issues. I suggest you go to simmarket and go to download, and download KEYW version 1.1 try it only once, and you won't be dissapointed. As for KMIA's performance, well right now we are extremely pleased, in fact we are going to add so much eye candy because we have a lot of room left in terms of polygons. Thanks all, and glad to respond. RicardoLatinVFR

I hope they rework some aspects of the jetways. They take away from some pretty good textured terminals. To have those ugly looking hexagon shaped tires on them. Plus the air-conditioning hose. Why does it look rigid and going straight out of the a/c unit and then curving down into the holding tray? It is not rigid like that, it looks ridiculous. If they would redo the tires and give a more realistic look to the a/c hose it would do wonders for the jetways.

Hi Richardo. I downloaded v1.0 on June 28th and then V1.1 on Aug 18th. Before installing v1.1 I completely removed v1.0 to make sure to start with a clean slate. However, I am still getting rather dismal performance with v1.1 and there are still some problems with the blend masks of the water textures when then meet with the default/REX water textures which leave straight lines or boxie appearances.I did find one way to improve performance and that was to remove the ADE file for the Air Force base since it was loaded with ton of those un-optimized default FSX objects, but even then when facing south the FPS go into the teens, and that is even with no AI and autogen/scenery complexity set to Normal for testing.I will re-download v1.1 again just to make sure that I do in fact have the latest version and install it again. If I still ahve issues or problems with it I will go to your forum and mention it to you.Regards,Sean

Nice shots and nice plane up there. smile.pngOff topic. I think I saw the announcement for another update on the Mustang lately (C182 forum). Their C182 G1000 may get one too. Nice service attitude, especially on the Mustang still receiving updates. Ricardo, I think the impression about the soon to be released KMIA comes with the announcements around some sim sites. For me, the preview shots already looked quite good, so I may have assumed that it's coming soon. No performance trouble with Key West 1.1 too. It's my favourite LatinVFR scenery so far.
