That's easy since there is only one... the Flight1 ATR72-500. DJ

you have it? how good is it FPS wise, and how are systems?

The Flight 1 ATR-72 was made in association with ATR, the makers of the real aircraft, who actually have used it as a promotional item for selling the real aircraft, so it is in fact one of the most realistic aircraft you can get for FSX. When it came out some years ago it was a bit tough on frames for then-current hardware, but these days you should be able to run it okay. If you want to know how complex it is, the fact that the PDF manual for it is about 500 pages long ought to give you an idea. Al

Oh, wow thanks, I think I've made my decision, and with these manuals, it'll sure be fun. Thanks

It's not native FSX though, I believe it is a port but made to work with FSX. Yeah it's a great model, one of my favorite for FS9, but I'd consider something more like the PMDG J4100 since its native FSX.

Not only that but the VC looks horrible by todays standards. I tried it in FSX and it actually performed worse than it did in my FS9 install and looked bad to boot. I uninstalled it the same day I installed it.I wish PMDG has chose the ATR instead of the Dash 8.

Agreed, we really don't need two incredible versions hehe... The one that Majestic/Samdim design is working on looks incredible. If you used his FS2002 version you'll know what to expect. Although the price is apparently going to be pretty high.http://samdimdesign.free.fr/ No doubt PMDG's will be fine but we already had the 737NG battle for FSX hehe.. Anyway, to the post above yours, I'm not sure of the difference between the two planes. I'd assume they're similar in performance. They're both twin turbines but ones high wing and one is low wing hehe. The PMDG J41 has an FMS as well so it does LNAV, not positive on VNAV though. Both planes have excellent systems modeling.

Oh, wow that looks amazing. that might rival PMDG just on VC

Yup, it is certainly true that the ATR is not as shiny as newer native FSX offerings, and it is indeed a port from FS9, but the OP wanted an ATR because of having the manuals for one, and that is the way it is with the one we have for FSX. If you want eye candy then there are nicer FSX turboprops out there, but if you want systems fidelity and an ATR-72, the Flight 1 ATR is still up there with the best offerings and does have something most other FSX turboprops do not have, including the PMDG J-41, in that it was an official development tie in with the real aircraft manufacturer. For a long time it was considered the best FS airliner you could get, and the quality in terms of systems simulation which made that the case has not changed in spite of its age, even if the eye candy aspect has. If you have the ISG avionics package incidentally, you might also consider the PAOB Fokker 50 or Fokker 60, which are roughly the same size and appearance of the ATR. The PAOB can be made into a very realistic rendition of the real aircraft by adding the ISG FMC. Al

Yeah, I can stand the low-quality VC, not that I haven't seen much worse wink.png .I'll probably end up bying it soon.

Thing is, the Flight 1 ATR is, like all Flight 1 stuff, sold with a guarantee that if it does not float your boat you can get a refund, so there really is nothing to lose in trying it. Personally, I still rate it alongside things like the PMDG 747 as one of the first FS airliners which took things to a new level, and in spite of having the PMDG J-41, I do prefer the older F1 ATR, largely because the ATR 72 is probably the prettiest medium turboprop there is.
