October 31, 201114 yr No OC and no tweaks and my frames are almost halved. But I don't "need" to double my frame rate I... guess Que?What I posted was my own personal experience with FSX - I have used varios tweaks ans supposed FPS boosters, but the best rates I ever had was with a fresh install, minimum add ons, and all add ons from one company - I can now turn every slider up to max bar water effects

There's a huge difference between your proposed 3.5 GHz and my 4.5-4.8GHz in the way of performance. Huge. Heck, the default turbo speed of my processor is 3.7GHz anyway. ___________________________________________________________________________________ Zachary Waddell -- Caravan Driver -- Facebook: http://www.facebook.com/zwaddell Avsim ToS Avsim Screenshot Rules
October 31, 201114 yr Author Dario and I sat down this weekend and were able to overclock my alienware to 4.5Ghz from 4.1Ghz. The improvement was not significant but noticeable.I believe the temperature is stable but welcome your opinion….During the stress test the temp reached 73C (on load) but only for a few seconds. Running FSX in NYC (most demanding at the moment) and with everything on max, I get a high temp of 73C but only sporadically. The average constant temp is around 68C.Based on some web research, Intel recommends that the high temperature does not pass 72.5 but I think this is a conservative measure on their part to avoid warranty problems. I am sure there many of you out there running as high as 85C. What is your guys opinon on the i7-2600k and its temp?
