January 28, 200422 yr >Excellent Ken. Thanks! No way, John! Keep your hands off'n it! You can only use computers that have the default services XP and 9x install out of the box running. The last thing we want is developers using optimized computers :-wink2
January 29, 200422 yr Hi Ken,When I click on the url I get a zero file screen. Has the file been removed?Happy Flyin' - Ken
January 29, 200422 yr Yes there is a new version:http://library.avsim.net/esearch.php?CatID...util&DLID=43225I added the ability to specify a command line for Flight Simulator. You can also specify the priority the Flight Simulator runs at. There are also a few GUI fixes.
January 29, 200422 yr Nice work Ken! I like the fs command line and priority feature, and the restart feature. I use EndItAll, but I always have to reboot afterwards to get my system working properly. Thanks!
January 29, 200422 yr Jeez, Ken! I just got the first version figured out and configured the way I wanted it, and now you go and change things! :)I had the first version working too well--my FSMeteoe would not start until I figured out what I had turned off that should not have been. It's amazing that WinXP thinks it has to have so much stuff running that is really not needed for many apps.Guess I'll give V. 2 a try now. Thanks for the program!Darrell
January 29, 200422 yr Well don't worry, v3 will be coming down the pipe soon with the following new features:1) can defrag memory before launching flight sim2) displays embedded version information for programs so you can figure out what some of the software on your system is3) remebers the command line of programs it terminates so when it restarts them it can restart them with the proper command line settings4) ability to store and use different profilesBTW, this program doesn't have to be used for just Flight Sim. It can be used for any software that you want to run in a lean & mean configuration.Coming soon to a forum library near you!
January 29, 200422 yr Surprisingly, I un-installed v1, and installed v2, but my original settings from v1 were still in place. No re-configuring required. (So, no need to reset things to default in order to use the upgraded version).Darrell
January 29, 200422 yr Thanks! Ken,I have downloaded and am about to try it.While I am but one, I appreciate the contributions you make to the FS Community.Happy Flyin' - Ken -.- ..--- -.- .-- .-. --... ...--
January 29, 200422 yr Well I think that Ken must be trying to move up in the ranks of Avsim, either that or become the patron saint of flight simulation. :-lol Someone who continually seems to want to make this hobby better for everyone either has an agenda or is just one heck of a nice guy. Personally I think he is just a great guy. Thanks Ken for all of your hard work, you are making things far easier and more enjoyable in this great hobby. January 29, 200422 yr After my Mind Control Software has been spread...YOU WILL ALL BOW DOWN TO ME!!!! :-batActually I'm just trying to increase my post count...:-lol
January 29, 200422 yr Hi Ken,Thanks for your contribution! I'm a happy user :)But could you give soem more instruction on how to handle the command line options? Are these to make those batchfiles? Thanks!Rob "Holland&Holland" de Vries http://www.emotipad.com/emoticons/Flying.gif"To go up, pull the stick back. To go down, pull the stick back harder"
January 29, 200422 yr Not sure what you mean about batch files. What you can do is if you need software to start before Flight Sim does, you can also specify any command line options the software may need to start up.Also, you can specify command line options for Flight Sim itself. Normally, this would be to specify an alternate CFG file to use.Hope this helps...
