I love attention!

Ken, how about programs that need to start after FS the need to have FS running before starting - like the weather programs specifically. Can you call those into play via your program? If so, how? Also, we might want to open a support/user's forum for this. :)

Hmmm, right now no. I wasn't aware that you need to have to open a program AFTER Flight Sim is running...I can definitely add this feature in....

Happy you "Love Attention"! Keep it up! And thanks much!Erv KSDF

Hi Ken, yes you have done a wonderful job on this utility, about to use it and go fly.On the points that Tom just wrote, in my FS configuration after FS9 starts, I also start FS Real Time, Radar Contact, FSMeteo or ActiveSky. Most add-on weather programs won't function until they know where FS is located>Really nice work Ken, you are going to be the king of something in the FS world (ha ha ha)Bob Johnson

>Most add-on weather programs won't function until they know where FS is locatedIt's an FSUIPC initialization issue, i think. That said, I've been running this in two ways: First, ActiveSky 2004 has been working just fine starting it up with Ken's utility, you just need to alt-tab to it after FS finishes loading and hit the refresh button. Others may be similar. Second, Ken's utility cooperated really with with FSAutoStartup - a utility that adds a DLL to the modules folder and runs programs after FS loads - its in the library. I had FSScreen and active sky loading with that utility, just used ken's to quit processes/services and start FS9. FWIW.sg

Ken,I use FSUIPCRunOptions, (which can be found at Peter Dowson's site) to bring up my FSMeteoe screen after I've started the sim. I keep FSMeteoe on a secondary monitor, and by having the startup screen pop-up in this manner, I can click the Start button on FSMeteoe and it's ready to go about the same time the sim is up and running. FSUIPCRunOptions can be configured to start any other apps that are desired upon the initial startup of the sim. Not sure, but I think the same thing may be possible with your program. (Haven't played with it that much yet). Darrell

Right now, FSAutoStart starts up programs BEFORE it starts Flight Sim.However, it seems most programs need to start AFTER Flight Sim.So I am going to change this in the next build.

Did I see somewhere that this tool is useful only with Windows XP? If so, can similar things be done with Windows ME? I have tried the selective start up method that Microsoft recommended with no improvement in FPS. But I built my own system and put very little software on it. I can typically boot up with 90% resource level (right click on MY COMPUTER - Properties - last tab).GW

It will run on Windows 2000, XP, 2003, and probably LongHorn (haven't fired up my preview copy yet).Windows 9x/ME presents certain limitations:1) There is no such thing as services, so none of that funcationility is available. Functions normally available through load time linking will cause the program to error. The functions must then be loaded from the dll during run ONLY if the OS is not 9x/ME.2) Gettting a list of running processes is more difficult.Once I get this program to a stable feature set, I plan on looking into making it work on Windows 9x/ME with limited feature set.

I made runoptions (it is a GUI to a FSUIPC possibilitie) and another one called FSAuto but I'm switching to Ken program since is more complete :) It only lacks the several profiles possibility that is already announced (please Ken don't forget several line commands options). Jos

Ken I haven't at this stage installed your programme -- I have manually altered the running of many of the XP services so basically thought I didn't need it -- but I must try it out I think. I may as well wait for your Ver 3 -- what timeframe are we looking at?Thanks Barry

I hope to have it in the next day or two.But don't hold me to it ;-)
