I just thought I would let you guys know that your friendly Forum Overmind has written another FREEWARE utility for Flight Sim.This utility is like a combination of EndItAll and FSAutoStartup plus some other features. I call it FSAutoStart (yeah, I know not very original).FSAutoStart allows the user the ability to automatically shutdown services and programs to provide as much resources to running Flight Simulator as possible. It also provides the ability to launch selected programs before Flight Simulator is launched. Lastly, it can automatically restart those programs and services previously shutdown, thus bringing the computer back to its original state. It is available now in the AVSim library:http://library.avsim.net/esearch.php?CatID...util&DLID=43225I hope you find some use out of it. Please feel free to let me know if you find problems or have suggestions.

Thanks for the utility. If you don't mind have a suggestion. The ability to launch FS with several configurations. Right now I'm using several batch files with /CFG option. I'm using it to configure if I want the yoke or the joystick, different display options, etc. This option also as a side effect benefit the different cfg are located in FS directory and not somewhere in the computer.Jos

Hi Jose,That's sounds very nice, how do I do this? I like to have a configuration for (CH) Yoke and Rudder and for MSSWFF2 Joystich and Rudder? Will this be possible? It's easy. Do a batch files like this:D:fs2004fs9.exe /CFG:noyoke.cfgif you don't copy your actual fs2004.cfg to the FS2004 instalation directory as noyoke.cfg you will get a fresh one. Run the batch change what you want like disabling the Yoke. Exit FS. Do another batch like:D:fs2004fs9.exe /CFG:nojoy.cfgSame cfg copy as above. run FS change the settings and exit. Also did some desktop shortcuts of the batch to make everything easier. You can make even more flexible with registered FSUIPC since you can have several fsuipc.ini one for each FS cfg. It's great for having several controllers adjustement.Jos

Thanks, Ken! That's great!Wolfgang

Ken, have you assessed the impact this new program will have on the ability to run things like the Garmin Trainer for the Meridian while this program is running. I have noted problems running the Meridian when I have FS running high priority. It seems the Garmin Trainer isn't getting enough juice to run. I'd love to use your new program and I don't know if you'd thought of this scenario.I appreciate the work on another great utility!!!

No problem. I'll add this in the next build.

I'm not sure I understand your question. My program, once it does its job and launchs Fligh Sim, basically goes to "sleep". It uses no CPU while waiting for the Flight Sim program to finish. It also uses very little memory. I moved the work into the console program for this reason - there is no GUI to eat up memory.

Looks like a great little program! Is there a list somewhere of what minimal services and programs are needed to run? I'm not sure what to shut down.Don

A batch file is a text file with the extension bat. This kind of files carry instruction that the command line (command pronpt in Windows) can execute. The instead of writing the command in the command prompt you can just click twice.Jos

That's what I'm looking for too! I have been manually exiting processes using task manager, stumbling on those that make the system work. Is there a list of Normal XP processes that should stay running? Thanks!sg
