Best route planner for overseas flights?

Featured Replies

I tried route finder and it completely ruined my flight. It took me all over the place. What are the best route planners for fsx not just for North America? Preferably freeware if possible.

I myself have never had a problem with routefinder, but before I fly I always check it with http://www.simroutes.com/fb2/ParseRoute.aspx so that the flight is totally correct. There is a planner coming soon called Professional Flight Planner X http://www.pfpx.com/ which promises to be one hell of a good planner. Unfortunately it is payware.Manfred

Ships are cooler that you think.

FlightSim Commander from Aerosoft will allow you to insert realworld NATracks into your flightplan...but its payware as well

Go on flightaware and search for flights between the destinations of your choosing. Sometimes the flightplans shown aren't complete but most of the time they are. Look up the correct NAT tracks corresponding with the real flight plan and there ya go!A working and accurate flight plan.Ya rfinder can take you all over the place when it comes to long polar or oceanic routes.

On routefinder you have to check the mark on use NAT Track so that way it will not take you all over the place.

These two aren't router planners per se, they are route databases but the quality of included routings is generally pretty good and they are entirely free. So here they are, in order of preference:1) http://www.ivao.aero/db/route/ (I believe this one is global)2) http://www.euroutepro.com/fp/fp_main.php (flight must start and/or end at a European airport)Please note that as they are databases they will not include the current NATS. These are official routing tools for IVAO and VATSIM respectively.
