November 15, 201114 yr Can someone please post a screenshot how the scenery looks like from e.g. FL510 in a high performance bizjet ?According to the X-plane website dated Dec 31 2010.http://www.x-plane.c...-in-x-plane-10/"X-Plane 10 has a maximum visibility of 100 miles, and it goes from the surface up to 45,000 feet. With roughly 2000 meters in a mile and 1 meter in 3 feet, that makes a maximum visibly area of 100 miles * 2000 meters/mile * 100 miles * 2000 meters/mile * 45,000 feet / 3 feet/meter = 600,000,000,000,000 cubic meters."Perhaps this is for just cloud rendering?Just from the screen shots posted so far, the visibility limit has been increased. I've compared XP-9 against the XP-10 shots posted so far around Seattle by AlpilotX. And judging from a X-15 screen shot when attached to the B-52 from the X-plane.com website ... i'm thinking AlpilotX has only the Seattle demo to work with? Much like the V9 Lowi demo. Can't post the link, it seems the links have been disabled. If i was a betting man, i would gamble with confidence that Laminar have introduced "atmospheric scattering" with great effect. But we'll have to wait and see.

Can't post the link, it seems the links have been disabled. As I am developing the Global Scenery, I have access to all parts of the planet. Though, usually I only have all raw data and all the tools (and configs) not necessarily all DSFs at once (as I re-create, test, delete, re-create different regions ...).But yes, visibility is definitely greatly enhanced (you get used to it quickly ... I was just surprised when I needed to go back top XP9 some time ago). And no, I don't post screenshots freely but usually someone on the team collects and does then ...And yes, atmospheric rendering is one of the things I really like in XP10 (even for me it made the world look so much better when it first begun to work in the development builds). Andras Fabian / Alpilotx Visit www.alpilotx.net, a site about X-plane scenery You can see some landscape and other photographs from me here: http://www.flickr.co...s/weathermaker/

For a bunch of blokes spread across the planet, what you guys are doing is remarkable. You are carving a niche in history.
November 16, 201114 yr Can someone please post a screenshot how the scenery looks like from e.g. FL510 in a high performance bizjet ?hehe .... from FL510 you only see colors not real detail.... of course this sim will show colors. What an odd request for scenery screenshots.
November 16, 201114 yr I try not to let things in XPlane bother me, but one really does, the creeping grey fog, it drives me to distraction in that i don't know if it is real weather or the "The Fog", if you have to put it in Austin/Ben , then at least give us the option of turning it Bl**dy well off.If it is still in Xplane 10 there will be a serious groan from my house....
November 16, 201114 yr Use the clear skies plugin.that is not the right solution. visibility in game needs to be fixed.
November 16, 201114 yr Commercial Member Can I just ask, why would you run ANY game or sim under 19fps? Stutter city. It stands to reason, to fix the problem, you need to turn down your settings.I think I saw somewhere that X Plane needs to run at 19fps or higher for the flight model to work properly.

That is a software bug not a hardware problem.Do you have a cheap low specification pc?

The popup problem, if I am understanding you correctly, seems to have been addressed in XP10. And no, I don't have a cheap, low spec pc.

What you are talking about is the way fog is also used to hide near objects when settings are raised on weaker pcs. That is an entirely different issue. Are you financially poor by any chance?
November 16, 201114 yr Commercial Member To be honest, and I say this with as much politeness as I can muster, but I'm so rich, I just threw a few hundreds in the fire just to keep warm.Have a great day.
