November 12, 201114 yr Hi all,In another thread I already wrote that after SP1 I have a problem when flying a STAR and approach.Over the last 2 days I am trying to make a flight form London Luton, departing rw26, flying to Amsterdam Schiphol, landing on rw06.Wind at Schiphol 135.I made several screenshots, so you can see what I mean. Here the departure from London LutonDeparting the UK ; sofar so goodDescending towards SUGOL ; still goodApproaching the Netherlands and starting the STARDescend path is good ; aircraft is not slowing downSpeed is still too high ; when using the airbrakes the throttles are coming up !Runway in sight ; LOC and than App engaged, but no slowing down. Like before, with airbrakes on the throttles are coming up !If I did something wrong I would like to know. However, before SP1 I already did the same flight twice and no problems at all. To be sure I did not use ASE. 5950x3d 5.4-5.7 GHz - Asus ROG 870 Crosshair Apex - GSkill Neo 2x 24 Gb 6000 mhz / cas 26 - MSI RTX 5090 Gaming Trio OC - 1x SSD M2 6000 2TB - 1x SSD M2 2800/1800 1Tb - Corsair 5400 case - Corsair 360 liquid cooling set - 3x 75’ TCL tv. 13600 6 cores @ 5.1 GHz / 8 cores @ 4.0 GHz (hypterthreading on) - Asus ROG Strix Gaming D - GSkill Trident 4x Gb 3200 MHz cas 15 - Asus TUF RTX 4080 16 Gb - 1x SSD M2 2800/1800 2TB - 2x Sata 600 SSD 500 Mb - Corsair D4000 Airflow case - NXT Krajen Z63 AIO liquide cooling - FOV : 200 degrees My flightsim vids : https://www.youtube.com/user/fswidesim/videos?shelf_id=0&sort=dd&view=0
November 12, 201114 yr You should also post the complete SID and STAR and Transition and approach FMC Legs pages IMO.VNAV is not engaged too, why ?

November 12, 201114 yr VNAV is not engaged too, why ? LNAV and VNAV are engaged except for the last shot where he's on final. From a quick look I can see that you have no stage of flaps deployed. The speed that your stuck at is when you should drop your flaps to 1.
November 12, 201114 yr Lol. What you want from PMDG? If you can't decrease your speed in time, that's you problem. You have no autobrake set, TCAS is off, no flaps on final turn. Usually u will have flaps 5-10 before entering the G/S.You also have speed brakes btw...
November 12, 201114 yr Author Inho the aircraft should lower it's speed , so on the speed tape I can see 1, 5 etc. and then set the flaps acording to the speed.Normally when capturing the localizer I should be at maneuvering speed and the speed tape should show 1 to set flaps 1.A speed of 220 is too high to set the flaps. If I lower the gear while doing the STAR and extracting the flaps to 25 the aircraft slows down and will reach the landing speed at App.But that is not the wasy it should be. 5950x3d 5.4-5.7 GHz - Asus ROG 870 Crosshair Apex - GSkill Neo 2x 24 Gb 6000 mhz / cas 26 - MSI RTX 5090 Gaming Trio OC - 1x SSD M2 6000 2TB - 1x SSD M2 2800/1800 1Tb - Corsair 5400 case - Corsair 360 liquid cooling set - 3x 75’ TCL tv. 13600 6 cores @ 5.1 GHz / 8 cores @ 4.0 GHz (hypterthreading on) - Asus ROG Strix Gaming D - GSkill Trident 4x Gb 3200 MHz cas 15 - Asus TUF RTX 4080 16 Gb - 1x SSD M2 2800/1800 2TB - 2x Sata 600 SSD 500 Mb - Corsair D4000 Airflow case - NXT Krajen Z63 AIO liquide cooling - FOV : 200 degrees My flightsim vids : https://www.youtube.com/user/fswidesim/videos?shelf_id=0&sort=dd&view=0

November 12, 201114 yr Ignore the troll, Gerard. In your penultimate pic, your speed tape is pointing to flaps "UP" - that is the sign to set flaps to 1, so maybe give that a go for starters. I've shared your confusion about the flap settings but it makes sense when you think about it - as you raise flaps, you will go to "UP" when you see the flap 1 marker on the speedtape, so that flaps are up as you hit UP. The reverse logic shows you extend your first notch of Flaps at UP.Hopefully others with more knowledge than I can shed more light on it, too.Paul Scholey Paul Skol
November 12, 201114 yr This seems to be your issue...- EH613 202/3212--------2.4 nm to- EH614 173/2900A------3.0 nm toIn VNAV it wouldn't decelerate to 173.Well lit only had 2.4 miles to do so.Hit speed intervention, the little button by the altitude knob. Control the speed yourself, while still remaining in VNAV. Lower spoilers to decelerate and then lower flaps and gear as required. You may find if you look at the approach plates, that the numbers differ from this.P.S. It's normal for the Approach light to be OFF once engaged. It's telling you you can't now disengage this mode by pressing the button.

November 12, 201114 yr I have had same issue when flying ENVA-ENBR. I did this route several times before SP1 with no problems. After SP1 in two occasions the airplane kept high speed during descend and I had to disengage AP and fly STAR manually because IAS was too high. Going to try one more time today. Antonio H.
November 12, 201114 yr Two observations: Vnav is waiting for you to extend the flaps; The idle thrust is too high Matt Cee
