November 13, 201114 yr Commercial Member Dougal, great idea!Victor, thanks for your informative post. Yes, I definitely plan to use landing flaps and gear down from RTT next time around for increased drag. From what I can gather reading other posts here, a review on AVSIM of Aerosoft's Approaching Innsbruck and the charts, there is only an advisory glideslope with runway 26, so cross-referencing the distance from ABSAM with the approach plate advisory altitudes like I did, does seem the correct way to fly this approach. Sor VOR/LOC in combination with V/S set to whatever you work out is required is how I would do it if I didn't know better (that the NGX flies the glideslope correctly seemingly). I'm sure I'm missing something here, but maybe the NGX is in fact just so smart...:D Owner, Fulcrum Simulator Controls. fulcrumsim.com facebook.com/fulcrumsimulatorcontrols instagram.com/fulcrumsimulatorcontrols twitter.com/Fulcrum_SC

November 13, 201114 yr What custom waypoints can you program into the fmc for an RWY08 approach?Teo Halfen Teo Halfen
November 13, 201114 yr What custom waypoints can you program into the fmc for an RWY08 approach?Teo HalfenYou don't even need to program the FMC if using FSC. Just create any/all the waypoints you want (by simply right clicking) in FSC. Save the route for the NGX, then just load it in the RTE section of the FMC. Adjusting the altidudes manually can sometimes be a bit 'hit and miss', but providing you have the approach plate, the alts will be marked. Not realistic, but GREAT fun non the less! November 13, 201114 yr Isn't there a way to program in the FMC an approach into RWY08? It´s very dangerous to fly by hand at night on that valleys!Teo HalfenNot possible and RW08 is only allowed as visual daylight approach.Look als my complete movie EDDS to LOWI with the 767 RW08 Eastern Approach and landing.I also posted a short version Western Approach for RW08 with the PMDG 737-800737-800 Western Approach for RW08: http://www.youtube.c...e&v=I6zQ2UgIPYg767-300 Eastern Approach Full movie from A to Z in 4 parts: www.youtube.com/results?search_type=search_playlists&search_query=klm763&uni=1Don't forget to set your YouTube player window on 1080p /full screen and sound on !!!
November 13, 201114 yr What happened with the tea and coffee ? Was a bad drink... as soon there is a FS2Crew Voice edition for the NGX there will be also a Coffee and Tea Please... version...
November 13, 201114 yr LOWI on Vatsim is one of mine favorites:)I fly there almost every Thursday when the Austrians have their weekly event (17.00z-22.00z).With the aerosoft scenery it's a lot of fun, but also challenging when u get the 08 circling. What I'm doing now is putting LOWI in the fix page, with 260/6 in the rad/dist.....but I would shore like to be able to make custom made waypoints for that visual procedure, If someone knows how to do it I'll be glad to learn how?Yes the ATC is very friendly & sometimes there is an nice Amerikan on LOWI App, he once commented me on my landing.....so from now on I know he's watching the landings It's weekly WEDNESDAY when LOWI is staffed... Since my upload with the LOWI procedures with KLM763 for the Eastern and Transavia 763 for the Western, it becomes very crowded in the VATSIM sky there so more and more there is a LOWI Vatsim staff on Monday evening...For the YouTube links, see my other comments in these topic...
November 14, 201114 yr I removed the HUGs as an equipment option. I prefer instrument and visual landings in the dark at LOWI and LSGS without the HUGs. True test of your pilot skills on those 2 airports at nightI go with that.No HUGS for me either. Do it the way most pilots currently have to do it. Dave P. Woycek
November 14, 201114 yr I would have to agree. Practicing without using HUGS seems to provide a faster learning curve. It's a great addition for later.I would also highly recommend Simba's excellent videos - a great learning tool. I tried that approach the other day but in the middle of the day, only to find there is no lead-in light. I end up anywhere but i should be. I end up the flight right there. November 14, 201114 yr Hey!!, i am flying at vatsim too, a lot of times, i had to do the circle to 08, i love that approach to death, extremely challenging and fun!, hope to come a cross with one of you there, BTW i am doing all my flights with a friend that he is a student pilot at ELAL, and i strongly recommend to do these flights with a co-pilot (a friend) not always you will be the captain, (: Daniel choen
