November 18, 201114 yr Hello, how many of you are flying with VA airline, and think that its very helpful, i am thinking of joining to one, i am flying at vatsim for about a year now, is it a lot of fun, and helping and learning about aviation? thanks very much,Daniel, Daniel choen
November 18, 201114 yr Commercial Member I am: SWAVirtual (I needed more of an excuse to fly the NGX), and FDXVA (an excuse to fly more MD-11).Sarcasm:Both even gave me a PIN Number to log into their website to log in, get routes, book flights, and even see how much is in my virtual bank account with an ATM Machine.(sorry, I hate verbal redundancy...) November 18, 201114 yr Commercial Member SWAVirtual requires a test to join, and offers a training program for its pilots after a few flights (to show you're serious about sticking around). It would definitely help someone get more out of their simming experience. There are others who also provide similar services, but I don't know them straight out of memory. Kyle Rodgers
November 18, 201114 yr Commercial Member I've been with the same VA for over 10 years [my sig]. We relaunched last year to integrate with a 3rd party economy system. It's fictional and therefore is very flexible in that we can request changes to the fleet and routing based on a democratic voting system. I feel it has helped, as I'm in a community with like-minded individuals and together we share information and help each other out. It motivates me to fly properly, not just mess around. We also have competitions and tours, which provide a break from regular ops, so you can have a reason to do things such as land at a high-altitude airport, land as close as possible to -200FPM, complete a route as efficiently as possible, and be rewarded for completing them. Everyone likes a pat on the back similar to the rewards system inside FSX...:-) Owner, Fulcrum Simulator Controls. fulcrumsim.com facebook.com/fulcrumsimulatorcontrols instagram.com/fulcrumsimulatorcontrols twitter.com/Fulcrum_SC
November 18, 201114 yr The VA (AirSource) I fly for is very flexible it has a bunch of different divisions, in the schedule division it pretty much covers any airline you can think of, so your not just stuck with one, it has a bid division where you do delivery flights and charters, a humanitarian division where you can go to troubled spots of the world to provide aid and it has a general aviation division for those times you just want to do a pleasure flight in a GA aircraft and a stock market to invest your pilot pay in. There are lots of great VA;s out there depending on what you like, if your like me you will probably join alot of them until you find the one you want.

November 19, 201114 yr Globe Cargo for me which emulates Atlas and Polar Air Cargo operations. Been with them since it's inception back in 2004. Great VA. I invite you all to check it out at http://globecargova.org/index.phpMark Mark Adams, KPWM
November 19, 201114 yr Let me start out with a disclaimer: I am a realism **.I've seen a lot of VA's out there. I've been a part of several, and even held a management role in one. If a VA is going to be a long term investment for you, it is critical that you want to be part of that VA's community, and that VA's community must be looking for the same thing in FS as you are. If you just want to fly an airline, do so. Vataware keeps track of your hours. There are ample tools out there to make your own flight releases; I file a full ICAO flight plan with every flight.I was a member of a sizable VA for well over 3 years. When I joined, the community was filled with gurus of all sorts, professional pilots, and people who wanted to get the most from their flight sim. It was worth flying under their name, and flying with those guys online was amazing. Over 3 years, the community simply began to drift away from what it was. People who were joining just weren't of the same caliber that they used to be. Many of the more senior members drifted away. As that happened, I began to realize that I wasn't drawing anything from the airline anymore. It's community simply wasn't what I wanted anymore.Drawing on that, I have a few tips for finding a good airline:-Decide what you want: a logbook, or an actual airline-How professional are that airlines pilot's online? (Are they competent, do they fly real routes, realistic equipment, etc)-What is the overall vibe from the community? That's what's important when you are looking for a VA. Joe Sherrill
November 19, 201114 yr I fly for Sky Europe virtual. We have fictional and also realistic destinations and also the fleet. The primary type is 737-7. So far it seems good, but lacks some kind of forum, so there is weaker community factor.http://www.esk-virtual.cz Ján Pitor ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ i5-2500K@4,8GHz, Noctua NH-D14, 4G OCZ RAM 1600MHz, 7-7-7-24, GTX 480, 2xSSD (win 7 64b and sims), G940
