November 27, 201114 yr Also, none of the above will auto-land the plane if that is what you are thinking. You still need to hand fly the plane down to the runway.
November 27, 201114 yr Author A had only do this: put ILS in NAV1 but it must like this: Thanks,And by auto-land you mean....I will land with the ILS, like the photo's, thanks anyway for the photo'sTim,and i have the 1 landing completed from the docx tut. with a 737, so tumbs up!
November 27, 201114 yr I really don't know what your problem is...I'm landing in Heathrow on almost my every second flight. And never missed it...I think you still got some things to learn.KostaRemember a time long long ago(certainly in my case) we were ALL beginners.PS I am not sure what nationality the Orig poster was ,but there are AVSIM forums in various other languages maybe Jim is one of those and could explain himself in a clearer manner there.Anyway cheers A.PPSHeathrow is not the best choice for a novice pilot to practice landings because of its performance issues. Nothing worse than trying to control your aircraft whilst at the same time trying to get to grips with all the ILS business plus flaps , spoiler arming app speeds etc etc etc AND suffering potential Heathrow stutters at the same time.Very rarely land there myself for that reason (take off yes )Anyways whatever your query, the forums may be a bad tempered arena sometimes ,but no need for &^%$£ language. What the %^&$£%, d%^%ed 0987y I hate the £$$%^^^ aggh!!
November 27, 201114 yr Performance issues?..Seems fine on my rig (AMD dual core 3 gig.) ( no addon for heathrow, but i do have an addon for gatwick nearby )See my pics...flying around 70-80 FPS...30 FPS when landing...how many do you want!? lol..More than 30 isnt needed for a smooth flight, plus its just being greedy to want more. Regards Luke M
November 27, 201114 yr Author i don't know what are you talking, but whitch airport sould i take for practise?
November 27, 201114 yr key board (with auto pilot) i have set the ILS NAV1 to 118.500 (that's Heathrow 9L i think) and it doesn't go straight to the runway, i fly's to it but it doesn't land or something, i will try the .docx file in my post above, soon.ThanksRwy 09L ILS is 110.3 !!!!vololiberista Super VC10 into LOWI with PF3 at a cinema near you https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=298UDyNmgUA
November 27, 201114 yr Author i know, of course i will search for it on time, but now i know what to do. and i have another quesrion, when you steer left or right, how to get the steering thing back in the middle, thats usefully for taxiïng to the runway :)
November 27, 201114 yr KostaRemember a time long long ago(certainly in my case) we were ALL beginners.Yeah, the reason for the measured reply was the topic title and the first thread. It could have been written in completely different manner - if what you imply was the intention.i don't know what are you talking, but whitch airport sould i take for practise?Doesn't matter. Heathrow or any other is good - as long as you know how to set your instruments, it doesn't matter (except some really hard airports like Lukla, Madeira, Innsbruck...).Say, did you ever read, I mean really read, some material on instrument rated flying?
November 27, 201114 yr Moderator The #5 key on the numeric keypad will center the rudder and nosewheel for you.Really, you need even a cheap joystick if you really want to fly properly. I learned that decades ago when I could never manage to land in FS95 using only the keyboard... Fr. November 27, 201114 yr Rwy 09L ILS is 110.3 !!!!vololiberistaUmm yeah, so much about correct setup... I thought already the freq looked wrong, lol.
November 28, 201114 yr You really do need a joystick or something other than a keyboard!FSX will be a totally diffrent..much more enjoyable. Regards Luke M
November 28, 201114 yr Author I have landed for the FIRST TIME on Heathrow, I will upload the landing to youtube! It wasn't a good landing, but it was a landing as i wish! Thanks,TimNow headig back to Schiphol
November 28, 201114 yr Congratulations! ( you still need a joystick or something tho, ) Regards Luke M
November 28, 201114 yr no, you cant pull back, so it would be hard to contol pitch, flaire ect.Even the most less expensive joystick will be better than a keyboard. When you do get one you will wonder why it took you so long to get one :) Regards Luke M
