Lack of Airports

Just fired up my XP9 and never noticed that my favorite Airports have no buildings KORF/KEWR). Is this the normal and will XPX follow the same suit?

XP9 didnt have airport buildings by default. My understanding is that XP10 will have one detailed airport at release with hopes of adding additional detailed airports with later updates.Quick link for "Whats new in XP10"http://wiki.x-plane.com/What%27s_New_in_X-Plane_10

Vincent, this is normal for XP9. XPX will basically be the same, as I have come to understand. The big difference is that XPX will come with an editor that will make building airports as easy as it gets. I expect that within a short period of time, tons of new, regional airports will be built by an enthusiastic base of users. I know I'll want to look at doing my home airport.

You learn something new every day. I never knew that.

So airports have to be specifically detailed in the editor? We don't even get generic auto-gen buildings by default?

This is what I'm afraid of. Granted, it should be easy to place objects sort of like ADEX for FSX, but there's a bunch of small airports which at least have accurate building placements in FSX. What about the big B's in the US? MSP, LAX, DTW, DFW, MIA, BOS etc etc will they be somewhat detailed or will it be up to the end user to create them?

Tom Kyler, posted earlier about possibly adding some more "lightly" detailed airports down the road. Within an update. The NORM for XPlane is one detailed airport and the "community" to add as you go. You'll be surprised by how fast airport scenery will begin to turn up at the .org.

Now if no Airports are included, whats the purpose of the Airport density setting? I did find a freeware KBWI, I take it no moving jetways or vehicles?

Once you find the great free airports at the .org, you'll fill up your fave airports pretty quick. Plus, a few of us are looking fwd to creating new airports!Yes, the new WED tool, once released, should speed up default airport creation
