Bloom/HDR + Night lighting with ENBSeries/Shade guide

Featured Replies

Hello,A few weeks ago I discovered ENBSeries and Shade trying to find out how to improve the default night lighting of FSX.After some tweaking I am so impressed with the result that I decided to write a quick guide for those who want to give it a try but don't have the time to search so many posts/forums about it.There are a few notes as well to help you adapt the main settings to suit your screen/projector setup as well.I uploaded the guide and config files to http://www.megaupload.com/?d=CSGAUZNAHope you like it!2011-11-24_5-8-13-758.jpg2011-11-24_4-51-19-93.jpg

I liked the enbseries very much, but always hate the blur it generates... After 'Shade' hit the market, I just uninstall thisAnyway, I'd like to see the above link working and give a try. Thanks for sharing!

Hey Guys,I just found out about this addon and started researching so much about it. The results are incredible.Unfortunately for me, I have tried this ENB series addon in so many ways and it always crashes FSX when I try to activate it.Let me give you some detals:I have an i7 950 running at 4.0GHz2 GTX 580s (290.36 drivers)6GB RAMWindows 7 home 64 bitI just did a clean install of FSX with the hopes of getting this to work.installed FSX and and acceleration right after. Nothing more. Not a single Addon.I am also wondering if "Shade" creates the same effect that ENB series tool does.I could use some help with the ENB series only for now. I would like to get it working by itself before I start adding additional addons. I'd appreciate your input! Thank you guys!Happy Holidays! :)

Thanks for the write up, will try it out. I'm currently using the .ini file posted up on the orbx forums, but I'm having kind of a dislike for it because it blurs my panels up a little too much.

Omni can you guide me to the files you used. I keep getting crashes no matter what I try. I am wondering if DirectX has something to do or my graphics drivers. I have DX11 and I dont recall ever installing DX9. I am using DX 9 on FSX though. (NO DX 10 preview enabled.) I just cant seem to get this awesome tool running.

I have all of the products in the OP's guide as well as a few different ENB series .cfg files I have saved. One of the problems I have never been able to overcome is getting the surrounding's dark enough to mimic a true night time environment while still being able to have aircraft taxi/landing lights bright enough to see where I am going on the apron? The only way I have been able to mitigate this is by using the Shift+F12 key to turn off the effect until I am sure of my orientation or ready for take off, But turning the "lights on and off" IMO is not a very elegant solution.Anyone got any tips? Thanks

Hey Omni Thank you so much for the information. I did as you advised but the crash keeps happening. It gives me an application error and tells me that the d3d9.dll is the module at fault every time I hit SHIFT + F12 in game to turn on the effect. And most of the time when I try to open the game the display area where the aircraft rotates comes out full black and immediately crashes the game. I don't know what to do anymore. I've tried all kinds of troubleshooting. If you come up with something let me know! Thank you so much for your prompt response and all of your help guys!!I really want this tool to work I've always complained about FSX un-natural sunlight and now that I have a solution I cant seem to apply it.Thanks guys!Happy New Year!
