November 28, 201114 yr Just wondering if this is normal- i almost always seem to need some rudder input to keep me centered as I'm taking off...the issue then is once I lift off I start to turn slightly in whatever direction the rudder is. Start up the plane (on a runway so it's already lined up for you) with zero wind & see if it happens without touching the pedals at all.If it doesn't, it's just the wind pushing you about. If it does then fsx is probably reading some signal from the pedals. Adding a small dead/null zone should fix it. Another thing to check for is inadvertently added rudder trim. November 29, 201114 yr #1 the spooling engines create a "yaw" effect i do believe due to spinning air mass and whatnot, and B, the pfd cant show wind component until you are in the air since it is a calculation of your true speed and headind compared to the indicated speed and heading of the aircraft.EB Wallace
November 29, 201114 yr The aircraft wheels in FSX don't seem grip the ground properly. When you use rudder to compensate for a sidewind you just go skating sideways across the runway anyway, wet or dry. November 29, 201114 yr Nope, if there is no controller calibration involved or wind, I have been told by real pilots that you have every now and then to correct left or right during take off and engines discrepancies are not involved as well.So it seems a normal behaviour, assuming the corrections are not above very few degrees.
November 30, 201114 yr Commercial Member I had this occur constantly under zero wind conditions, and thought that it might be the Saitek drivers - but it doesn't occur when I test it with the Level-D, so I'll assume (dangerous, I know) that it's modeled that way in the NGX.Nice to hear that someone else has noticed this.
