PMDG 737 NGX Vs Airbus X

Featured Replies

Gentlemen,For those of you who own the PMDG 737 NGX (and the Airbus X) , could you please advise on how the landing lights shine on the runway? The Aerosoft Airbus X landing lights are amazing; they light the runways very realistically-- not a "mask" triangler light. Not to mention the entire a/c graphics, which is a "climax" of a beauty ! Johnny

No other aircraft comes near to the PMDG 737NGX. Period.Cheers,- jahman.

PMDG has their own code for lighting, and it's similar to the Airbus X in terms of lighting the runway. The NGX, however, goes much further than the Airbus X, where every possible light switch (runway, taxi, flood lights, etc..) are modeled. Once you own the NGX, you will spend little time in the Airbus X.

No addon comes close to the NGX, haven't touched the Airbus X since the 5th of August, althoughI am waiting for the extended version of the Airbus X, then I (might) fly it some more. To your question about landing lights, IMO, its just a little glary, but thats with every light on the plane on. Not a waste of money.

Agreed the NGX is as awesome as it gets but as the OP Johnny says the Aerosoft Airbus landing lights are DA BOMB!

agreed PMDG set the bar pretty darn high with the NGX....

Both add-ons do a great job with ext lighting...But the NGX is a bit better than the AirbusX IMHO.

I think the Airbus has the NGX beat as far as lighting is concerned, but both are visually stunning.Personally I can't wait for the extended version. Then I'll have the ultimate Boeing and the ultimate-for-now Bus. happy.pngI've just cleaned out my hangar of other airliners (CS, QW, CLS) as I really don't bother with them anymore.Ian

I like the Airbus X's landing light colors a whole lot more than the NGX's landing lights, to be honest. However, The NGX does much, much more when it concerns the illumination of exterior lights on surroundings. For example, the navigation lights illuminate the ground, that sort of thing.

Very well, my question is answered... Airbus X light on runways looks much, much better; man, if only everyone else would do the same. I am sure the PMDG NGX is better in terms of funtionality and looks; however my question was about how the lights shine the runways.Aerosoft Airbus X: As far as this a/c the visuals are stunning and with the extended version, this aircraft WILL be on the top of every "top" a/c to date...Got to love it ! I understand your liking for the PMDG 737; however, keep in mind that the sim community has been without a great Airbus for many years now. My question was on lighting the runways. I have the I- Fly 737 and honestly I don't see the need to get the PMDG version. I have tons of PMDG products and they are great; however, they do not have an Airbus. (Though several years ago they promised to work on Airbus variants; they never did, and never said why).--- You and I (and everyone else out there), know very well we can find Boeing a/c on every corner of the simming world.. Almost like going down the famous avenue looking for the "happy" lady. But, the reality is we cannot say the same about an Airbus. Why? Well, it's not a Boeing ! An Airbus is a real advanced a/c with highly complex systems; which only the best of the best and the most brave developers will reach its summit! Will it be Aerosoft? We'll see, soon; I hope !

Hi,If your a scarebus guy, I assume you've already seen the Flight Sim Labs one, although no new updates have been given for a while. And although I'm definetly getting the Airbus X extended versioin, the Flight Sim Labs is probably the one to go if your looking on-the-spot modeling for systems.

I must say I had two of the nicest flights I had in some time this past weekend with the Airbus X. Granted, I could start engines with all fuel pumps off, but after getting the FBW plugin and the Lua scripts for throttle input, the plane works admirably well. Flying from Edinburgh to Belfast, at dusk, with 3nm of visibility, was a seriously awesome experience. I can see myself doing this a lot more often!

We released a couple of screenshots last night. I think they're only on our Facebook Page at the moment. I'm sure they'll make their way onto the main website soon.
