December 12, 201114 yr Hi folks,Bit of a strange one here. I have been flying and enjoying the 337 virtually every day and in the last 24 hours a rather interesting and annoying bug has shown itself. The rear engine fuel flow gauge does not register any movement in cold/dark mode when I energize the HP pumps for pre start and advance throttles to 60. The front reacts as expected. When I crank the rear engine it fires up and gauge displays as normal. Aside from the radio/NAV not tuning in sync and other outstanding common issues the plane flies just fine.Any ideas? I have added/removed nothing from FSX in ages that I can remember. I load the default motor kite and load the 337 over the top.CheersTed AVSIM Staff ReviewerBush Is Good!
December 12, 201114 yr Yep, I've seen the same thing. I didn't note at the time if the front one was behaving normally in my system or not to be honest, and right after I saw this, I had to disconnect my computer for a move. I'll try and check it tonight or tomorrow, but definitely I've noticed the fuel pressure doesn't change when turning on the fuel pump and advancing the throttle without the engine running.
December 13, 201114 yr Author I would be curious to see if you show exactly the same where the front works and the rear does not. Pretty odd thing to happen but at least it displays and works fine once the engines are cranked.Hopefully Fernando and company will get the outstanding snag items sorted soon. Along with porting this and the Caravan over to X-Plane AVSIM Staff ReviewerBush Is Good!
December 13, 201114 yr I didn't get a chance to try it last night but should tonight or tomorrow. I'll let you know here one way or the other ASAP.
December 20, 201114 yr That happens with my Skymaster too. Only the fuel flow for the front engine works. Cheers, Bert AMD Ryzen 5900X, 32 GB RAM, RTX 3080 Ti, Windows 11 Home 64 bit, MSFS 2024
December 21, 201114 yr Author That happens with my Skymaster too. Only the fuel flow for the front engine works.Grumble.....Fernando wake up please and sort this! After the holidays of course :( AVSIM Staff ReviewerBush Is Good!
January 21, 201214 yr Is there a patch in the making to fix this issue? Thanks. Cheers, Bert AMD Ryzen 5900X, 32 GB RAM, RTX 3080 Ti, Windows 11 Home 64 bit, MSFS 2024
January 22, 201214 yr No, Carenado move onto their next projects and don't fix recent releases. There are mny bugs in the 337. -Iain Watson-
January 22, 201214 yr Fuel flow...Me Too - However I turned on tips and discovered that the hi/lo front and rear switches are assigned the incorrect engine. Well at least it is on my 337 ;-).Sigh, waiting for a fix or two from Carenado.
January 23, 201214 yr you going to wait very long..!!this tips that is wrong has been reported first week already. Carenado dont spend time correcting "little" issues.. LOL.. As another poster said, they already have moved on long ago..If it is not corrected within first week SP, It will never be corrected.. Live with it. it is carenado.. they have a proven track record of this behavior of not properly fixing all issues. Edited January 23, 201214 yr by bliksimpie
January 23, 201214 yr Sure. I understand I'll be waiting. This is in response to the initial posting. What I meant was that with the fuel AUX pump switches, the Front Engine Hi switch works the fuel pump for the front engine and the Front engine LO switch works the fuel pump for the rear engine.I assume the Rear engine pump switches (HI and LO) are not connected to anything or the pump works silently. ;-).I guess we could always blame the engineer who did the last 100 hour inspection for connecting the wrong wires under the dash.... January 25, 201214 yr What I meant was that with the fuel AUX pump switches, the Front Engine Hi switch works the fuel pump for the front engine and the Front engine LO switch works the fuel pump for the rear engine.I've reported the rear fuel pump switch problem, as have others, but I never realized that the front lo switch acts like rear hi. In a way, this helps. At least when I go through my startup routine I can sorta imagine a scenario as you suggest - the switch got mis-wired during the last annual/100 hour/avionics upgrade/whatever. I still don't like it, but it's plausible.Scott
January 25, 201214 yr At a certain big German airline they even managed to reverse the aileron connection on an A320 and the pilots had great difficulty getting on ground again after finding out after lift off.....Miss wiring unfortunately happens not too seldom but seldom in such a dramatic way.But I fully agree that if this bug is known like the fuel pump it should be corrected of course. January 25, 201214 yr Author But I fully agree that if this bug is known like the fuel pump it should be corrected of course.Correcting this specific issue along with having the actual fuel selector gauges work correctly would be helpful. Unless I am wrong shouldn't the Collins COM1 and NAV1 be slaved to the GPS corresponding readouts as well? It's helpful for online flight.Still a great plane to fly....but these niggling issues need sorting out. Please :( AVSIM Staff ReviewerBush Is Good!
January 25, 201214 yr No response from the team. Too bad. Or do they never respond? I'm not to familiar with these forums. Anyway, if this doesn't get fixed I would be very disappointed... Cheers, Bert AMD Ryzen 5900X, 32 GB RAM, RTX 3080 Ti, Windows 11 Home 64 bit, MSFS 2024
