December 16, 201114 yr Hi,So I've been having some problems these past couple weeks, all fixed by reinstalling. This morning, I tried to do ANC-SEA in the 800WL, but I Could not here any engine noises, rumbling, air conditioning packs, flap motors, they were all there, except for that soundset I love. So I reinstalled the NGX as we're supposed to. After that, I started up a test flight, and when I got into the VC, I saw this: As you can see, the HUGS is working(actually you can't see that one), and the CDU as well, but any numbers on the PFD/ND and EICAS displays are not there. So I reinstalled again. No luck, so deciding to take this to the forum. If it is a anti-too much reinstalling thing, what should I do?Thanks,
December 16, 201114 yr I think you're definitely reinstalling too much. Best to open a support ticket I think and find your real issues. Kenneth Weir My Saitek yoke mod i7 2600k @ 4.7 8GB Gskill CAS7 2x GTX580 SLI Surround + GT520 Accessory Win7x64
December 16, 201114 yr Author Hi,OK, I'll do the support ticket, but what should I put in there, a reason for the ticket and a picture? Thanks,
December 16, 201114 yr I'd make it fairly comprehensive. List your past issues & reinstalls as well. Either attach that photo or link to this topic so they can be sure to see the photo. Kenneth Weir My Saitek yoke mod i7 2600k @ 4.7 8GB Gskill CAS7 2x GTX580 SLI Surround + GT520 Accessory Win7x64
December 16, 201114 yr I really do not think that too many installs could be a problem. That is not how computer software works. When you do a clean install, do you remove everything got to do with the NGX ?Fred. Frederic Steiner.
December 16, 201114 yr What I was getting at is he shouldn't be having this many consecutive bad installs. I'd bet money there's an underlying problem. Kenneth Weir My Saitek yoke mod i7 2600k @ 4.7 8GB Gskill CAS7 2x GTX580 SLI Surround + GT520 Accessory Win7x64
December 16, 201114 yr to do a clean install do the following got this from Ryan:go to control panel uninstall ngx program.then manually delete the following: go into your PMDG folder and anything with the ngx goesinto recycle bin, in addition make sure and go to fsx/simobjects/airplanes/ and if anything is left their of the ngx or any models manually delete that as well.In addition go to apllication data/roaming/microsoft/fsx/simobjects/ and if anything their has to do with ngx delete that as well manually. Now everything is uninstalled now you might want to restart your computer make sure yourdownload link is active or buy extended warranty $4.95 turnaround time take 1-2 days which is great and the new installer will autmatically havesp1b and you are on your way. These instructions worked for me since I had some problems and if you have Norton anti viral that could also cause many problems so keep sonar disabled if you have it. and remember run as adminstrator. Also if you have addon package first install 800 and 900 series then 600 and 700 series which does not have and extended warrantey but they can reset the link for you. It al worked for me plane flies now like a champ!!!

Turnaround time: 20mins.In my personal opinion, When it comes to FSX and NGX, just having Norton Antivirus on my PC is a problem.regards, Rick Hobbs
December 16, 201114 yr I still use norton but you are exacly right sonar cost me to lose my delivery manger of 1.09.
December 16, 201114 yr Stop using crapware Antivirus and get MSE for Free! NGX loves MSE!Also helps to run the NGX installer as Administrator with Antivirus off when installing.Other notible issues is having FSX installed in the default directory on your C: Drive. Better to have it somewhere different than that. Paul Deemer

December 16, 201114 yr Author Ok, so I'm currently downloading MSE, going to try and reinstall one last time. if something should go wrong, ticket will be sent straight away. My hopes aren't very high, though
December 16, 201114 yr Norton shouldn't have anything to do with running the NGX. Doesn't bother mine inthe least. Yes, it flagged the two files, but you can restore them and it won't botherthem again. That's just a sign that the AV is actually working.. I *want* the AV toflag questionable files. That doesn't mean you can't get them back. They are justquarantined.. And you can always turn Sonar off, if you want to install and nothave them flagged.Myself, I'm wondering more about how you are starting up the NGX, rather thanhow it's installed. Sometimes the way you start the airplane can cause issuessimilar to what you are seeing. Always have the startup flight use a defaultFSX airplane, and then load one, and only one NGX version.I would not use a startup flight that uses the NGX as the startup airplane. You may not be, but just thought I would mention it, as doing that can sometimescause weird things to happen. My NGX has been pretty much solid as a rock since early August, and I'veused every single hot fix and service pack with no issues. And I'm running Norton AV. Mark Keith
