December 18, 201114 yr I have had s-turns before due to the wind changing, but this time the wind is staying same and LNAV is going crazy. Some one please help, this is very frustrating! Its only started today, I haven't changed anything on my system. Adan Thornton
December 18, 201114 yr What version number of FSUIPC are you using and Registered or Unregistered? What Version of Activesky are you using?Have you read my tutorial on ASE, FSX and FSUIPC Weather Settings? Paul Deemer
December 18, 201114 yr Author Hi Paul,I am using ASE, with an unregistered version of FSUIPC. But like I said, I hadn't changed anything on my computer before it started happening.I have not read that, where would I be able to find it? Adan Thornton
December 27, 201114 yr I have the same problem; any thoughts?I only have an unregistered version of FSUIPC; would the registered version make the difference? I have REX; are there any settings there which would help? Thanks,Dave
December 27, 201114 yr I had the problem with the version of FSUIPC included with the QW757... I removed it and the problem went away! You could also try using ASE in DWC mode. This greatly changes the effect wind has on your aircraft.I hope I could help,Brandon Brandon Binder Drei Tage war der Vater krank - jetzt trinkt er wieder - Gott sei dank!
December 27, 201114 yr The current ultimate fix for s-turns on all PMDG aircraft is to use the latest version of FSUIPC and get Activesky 2012 and use DWC. I use both and have not had any s-turn issues even with turbuluence enabled. Seems like they finally fixed this problem. If you do not have plans to upgrade to Activesky 2012 then your only option is to disable turbulence. Paul Deemer
December 27, 201114 yr Question for Paul - or anyone else who can answer. I just purchased AS2012 and am fairly new to it. I find that when I have DWC enabled, while i'm in a climb with my NGX, when the wind direction changes with altitude, it throws off my airspeed and my plane starts to go nose up and down quite a bit to try and maintain airspeed. Ex. If i'm climbing at 290kts and the wind changes while in climb, it might knock airspeed to 270 or so and the plane will pitch to regain 290. This can't be realistic is it? What am I doing wrong? December 27, 201114 yr Did you make the recommended changes by HiFi to your FSX.Cfg and FSUIPC.ini? If not then change the following.Open FSX.cfg and replace the current line in there with the line below.TurbulenceScale=0.500000Open FSUIPC.ini and replace the current lines in there with the lines below.TurbulenceRate=0.5,2.5TurbulenceDivisor=40,40,80,80Finally be sure and use DWC in AS2012 and disable all weather options in FSUIPC including smoothing. The easiest way to disable all FSUIPC weather is to go in and click on the About Tab, and Click on the Weather Settings Off Box. There is no longer any need to use any of FSUIPC Weather or Smoothing settings. Be sure you get the latest version of FSUIPC, this is also very important! http://fsuipc.simfli...eta/FSUIPC4.zip When your done installing this your version should read. (4.751 FSUIPC) Other than above using the default AS2012 settings work just fine for most people. The only thing I changed on mine was the maximum upper visiblity to 100 nm cause I set my FSX Cloud Draw to 110 nm at cruise. The other thing I change was the update weather from 10 min to 15 min. December 27, 201114 yr Thanks Paul, I will follow those instructions and see what happens. Ken Connors
December 28, 201114 yr If you do not have plans to upgrade to Activesky 2012 then your only option is to disable turbulence. So disabling turbulence definitely solves the problem? If it's that easy, I'll do it.Thanks,Dave
December 28, 201114 yr So disabling turbulence definitely solves the problem? If it's that easy, I'll do it.Thanks,Dave If you have the registered FSUIPC the only option you have to check is the one that supresses turbulence in FSUIPC under the Winds Tab. If you do not have the registered version of FSUIPC then you have to check the box in FSX Weather settings for Disabling Turbulence and Thermal effects on aircraft.Make sure you also do the following.Open FSX.cfg and replace the current line in there with the line below.TurbulenceScale=0.500000Open FSUIPC.ini and replace the current lines in there with the lines below.TurbulenceRate=0.5,2.5TurbulenceDivisor=40,40,80,80Use the latest version of FSUIPC whether it is registered or not. December 28, 201114 yr No more S-turns and Sim connect-tion is solid!I am using ASE and FSUIPC registered...since the latest FSUIPC 4.754 (from Peter's updated downloads forum http://forum.simflight.com/topic/66139-updated-modules/), and using the latest SP4beta of ASE (NOT AS2012)...I am able to fly with no wind/baro smoothing, no S turns, no Sim-connect disconnects. The only thing I have FSUIPC doing is suppress turbulence..and now I am not even sure that is still necessary.Did 3 flights yesterday, no issues. System specs: Dual core E6300 (1.86g X 2), 2gb RAM, nvidea7800GT, Saitek yoke, CH throttle (6 lever), Soundblaster live.Add-ons: FSX: LDS767, FSL Concorde, FT E175/195, PMDG 747X/737X, Active Sky E, some freeware airports.Human specs: Desktop simulation since FS1, beta tester (LDS, FSL), 737NG simulator tech (Threshold Aviation), r sole+.

December 28, 201114 yr Yeah with AS2012 and the latest FSUIPC it's flawless do not even need FSUIPC turbulence supression.I think that is a typo on his page though. When I download the very latest FSUIPC it says version. 4.751a Paul Deemer
