Rafal, you got your new box and didn't say anything? You might want to overclock it a bit...3.3 on 2500k is shameful!!!Merry Christmas and thanks for the heads up :)Mark

Seriously!!! I am @ 4.8 all the time peaking at 5.0 for benchmarks on my 2500... @ 3.3 you might as well be the guy in the slow lane with your blinkers on 20mph below the speed limit ;)

Have a Wonderful Day

Mark and Paul,You are right, gentlemen. That's becuase my fourth approach to FSX was rather a failure, so I decided to stay with 3.3 as it seems more than enough for even max overloaded FS9.But since my FSX approach was a failure also (but not only) because of performance worse than I expected, I may think of overclocking and cooling. I am just a total newbie as for OVC.Have great Zurich flights! Captain2.gif

Rafal, what motherboard are you using? I can walk you through my settings and get you some screenies of my bios screens when you are ready to try...Paul

Paul,I have Gigabyte Z68M-D2H.Even though I am on the default 3.3 GHz, when I use FS for some time it gets quite hot inside of my case and its cooler starts making noise. So, anyway I believe I would need a nice extra cooler before attempting to overclock. Thanks a lot for your help offer.Once I decide to give it a go, I will let you know and we'll make an appointment via PM.And once again: happy Zuriching! :(

Sounds good Rafal, I will research the appropriate settings on your board as the timings are pretty universal... perhaps a voltage tweak or two but fairly simple :)I would recommend the Corsair H80 or H100, the H80 keeps my 2500 below 60C under full load at 4.8.See you in Zurich, damn mechanics have delayed my pre-flight due to an engine needing defrag He%20He.gif

Those gigabyte boards are great O/C ers Rafal (see my sig for specs). Love the PMDG NGX too much to ignore FSX. The NGX on it's own is a SIM!

Al Stiff

Thought for a second Rafal may have had his system unified by FS-GS. No spam, just a happy client, and no need to overclock,Merry Christmas to all.

Great, Paul, I will definitely check them next week.

Al, I am sure it is. I have never had any complaints about PMDG as for their system fidelity.

You bet they are! They even prepared a flightplan for today, originating at Orly and leading to... guess where. :(

Rafal, take a look at the link below...it's got more then one page so when you get to the bottom of the first really long page keep going to page two and three and etc. It's a very in depth examination of the Gigabyte Z68's. It's not exactly your motherboard version but it is probably is close enough...http://www.clunk.org...ing-review.html
