Is there a program for just audio ambiance (flight attendants, etc.)

Featured Replies

Hi AllIs there a program out there for FSX that will add a ton of audio enhancements like flight attendants, (doing the safety brief, prep for landing speech, serving food & drinks, etc.). All I want is audio enhancements much like FS passengers but without all the other things that FS passengers does. I just want the audio ambiance of flight attendants and the lke, etc. I don't need a co pilot or pilot's voices - mostly Ijust want the flight attendants. Anyone? Thanks!Chris Catalano

FDSFX (FlightDeck SFX) sounds like would satisfy what you are looking for. Works with FS9 & FSX, just about any aircraft, and it's a freebie. ;)Clutch

Intel i9-12900KF, Asus Prime Z690-A MB, 64GB DDR5 6000 RAM, (3) SK hynix M.2 SSD (2TB ea.), 16TB Seagate HDD, Gigabyte GeForce 5080 RTX, Corsair iCUE H70i AIO Liquid Cooler, UHD/Blu-ray Player/Burner (still have lots of CDs, DVDs!)  Windows 10, (hold off for now on Win11),  EVGA 1300W PSU
Netgear 1Gbps modem & router, (3) 27" 1440 wrap-around displays
Full array of Bravo, Saitek and GoFlight hardware for the cockpit. Varjo and HP VR headsets for mixed reality.

Hi Chris,I had FlightDeck and found it too cumbersome to set up though I used it for a few years and went into areas I was not interested in. I round FSPassengersX and REALLY love it. You get all the ambience w/ flight crew announcements, meal service, emergencies, plus as a bonus you can set up your own airline, pilots, and the app tracks your pilot by giving points for doing things right and moving up their certification level. This can be quite diluted or more detailed as for what things it will monitor about your pilots' performance. There are a variety of voice packs so that if you wish to fly in Europe you can choose French, British, Spanish, etc. voices. To add some realtime ambience for real ATC, be sure to try LiveATC.net. You can save a particular controller frequency to your desktop for different geographic areas so that when you do a flight from say KSFO you can choose that shortcut for KSFO Tower and you get realtime ATC chatter. Very sweet! Runs in media player.Noel

I have FSPX, but there is apparently no way to disable the tire blowouts. I apparently tend to land the PMDG 737 NGX too hard for FSPX's liking so I am looking to move away from it for now until I get better at landing the NGX. I really only wanted FSPX for the audio files, but this annoying tire blowout thing ruins every flight for me (for now). Thanks,Chris

Fscaptain does crew announcements.also first officer callouts and helps manage some cockpit functions.only had it a short while ,but i love it already and wouldn't fly without it.not the same as FSpassengers.more about flying and managing the aircraft, rather than building up a fleet.plus there support is top notch with a good support forum. steve-0

For just audio, it can also be done with XML, and an audiogauge. See the panel design forum.

Chris can you disable it in one of the .cfg files maybe?

I have looked over the cfg files with a fine tooth comb and it seems impossible. You can manually set it to intentionally HAVE a tire blowout upon landing, but even if you disable this so you do not automatically produce one, if you land too hard, you will still get the blowout. I suppose you are given the option of automatically producing a blowout in case you want to pracice emergencies, but as I said, even if you set it to NOT automatically have this emergency, you can still get one if you land to hard. Thanks,Chris

I have personally been in extremely hard landings in real life and never a tire blowout so that feature seems unrealistic if it happens all the time. Why don't they do it like XPAX and just deduct points for passenger discomfort? After a couple of hard landings, I do everything possible now to make sure the landing is as smooth as possible and my virtual passengers sound joyful as they exit the aircraft. Now that's realistic!Jim
