Just a couple of questions before I "click the damn button",1. Can I change aircraft settings in the FMC like the NGX and I think CaptainSim? (PMDG SETUP)2. Will this airplane be hard to learn since I'm already familiar with the NGX?3. Why is there a FS9 version? Does this mean it was ported? (Like Call of Duty to PC...)Thanks.

Click it!1. No. Unfortunately, you need to use the Add-Ons menu. No FMC options menu.2. It's not too terribly hard to learn. There is a learning curve to the McDonnell Douglas way. I recommend doing the tutorial that comes with the MD-11 and the advanced tutorial on the PMDG website. It will help you out.3. If I remember correctly, the FSX version of the MD-11 was developed before the FS9 version. There's just a FS9 version to make the non-believers happy...Once again, CLICK THE BUTTON D**N IT (censored out of respect for people of a certain age..)!

Like me?Anyway, I'll think about it. I still love my NGX, and I don't want to leave her in the "hangar" and just keep using the McDonnell Douglas (Or MacDonald's Douglas. lol).Oh and 1 more thing, for me it's either this or the 600/700.

I don't think the admins here or minors (or their parents) would like me using my usual language. Sort of makes Jerry Springer look like Sesame Street...Anyway, I am a bit biased when it comes to the MD-11. Though if you want to buy the 600/700 pack then I can't stop you.

You don't have the NGX, do you? :(

No. I like long haul more. Just my personality. Think I would get tired of flying from one city to the next.

1. You're missing out. And you can do transatlantic flights on the NGX... Keyflavik (Or Reykjavik) to London, for example.I'm not really the long-haul guy, but I just wanted to try something new. The NGX was my first payware add-on (aircraft, my first ever was REX) and I learned a lot from it in only 3 months. I think if I was in a flight and both pilots were detained, I could be able to land the plane. (LOL reminds me of Final Approach...) Like I said before, I was also looking at the QW 757 and CS 757.

You seem to have problems getting the MD11 but I can say that this aircraft made me come back to flight simulators, the reason? Because it is such a great add-on. I still find it in the NGX class. And sure it takes a while to learn, but isn't the learning fun?

I don't have problems, I just want to be sure of my purchase. You got to think that it's $mega_shok.gif, and I recently payed $70 for the NGX. I'm not poor, but I'm not rich either. Also, can anyone verify which airlines in the real world still use MD11 (cargo airlines included)? I know
  • KLM
  • UPS
  • Federal Express
  • KLM Cargo
  • Lufthansa Cargo

What else?

The 600/700 is great fun, but it's not vastly different from the 800/900 and so I would spend your cash on the MD-11 because it is something completely different to add to your stable. Just because it is a long-haul aircraft doesn't mean you can't fly it on sub 5 hour flights, for example. That's the beauty of it being a simulation after all.

Nah man, I'm more of a airliner person... It's my dream job, and using FSX is the only way I can imagine myself in the cockpit of a real airplane.
