January 5, 201214 yr This is a very basic question for someone who has flown everyday on the 737NGX, I searched the posts and searched the manual for 1 hours now. There are so many posts for brake temps that I can't find what I am looking for. But where the heck is the brake temperature shown? I have it turned on in the FMC set up. Also is there a system page in the 737NGX like on the PDMG 747 with the fuel flow shematic, doors, hydraulic etc. I see nothing in the manual. Paul Gugliotta

You should see the page with control surfaces, brake temps, etc come up on the lower DU. Thanks!Nick CrateChief Executive OfficerFedEx Virtual Air Cargo
January 5, 201214 yr Author I just don't see it. Is it in the 2D panel? Here is what I see. Boy do I feel like a failure.See if this photo comes out. I just don't see it. Paul Gugliotta
January 5, 201214 yr Above the center DU, hit the sys button. You should see the page with control surfaces, brake temps, etc come up on the lower DU.Be aware that may or may not be there. It's a customer option whether to show the brake temps and Flight Control positions (you can select this in the CDU)edit:I just don't see it. Is it in the 2D panel? Here is what I see. Boy do I feel like a failure.See if this photo comes out. I just don't see it.I don't see a picture, but in the 2D you have to find the click spot for the lower DU. I'm not sure which one it is since I always fly in the VC. Edited January 5, 201214 yr by Steven_Caffey Steve Caffey
January 5, 201214 yr Author Let's see if the photo gets attaached. The brake temp is definately selected in the options. But I still can't fine the SYS buttton. Paul Gugliotta
January 5, 201214 yr FCOM 2: 1.20.10 - It will be number 7. Button will say SYS. Edited January 5, 201214 yr by FDX016 - Nick Thanks!Nick CrateChief Executive OfficerFedEx Virtual Air Cargo
January 5, 201214 yr Author OK , when I load the panel is shows SYS and then in a split second it turns to INOP. Thus the SYS button goes away. What do you make of that? Paul Gugliotta
January 5, 201214 yr OK , when I load the panel is shows SYS and then in a split second it turns to INOP. Thus the SYS button goes away. What do you make of that?Hmm, that's a good question... You mean the button turns to INOP or your lower DU? Thanks!Nick CrateChief Executive OfficerFedEx Virtual Air Cargo
January 5, 201214 yr OK , when I load the panel is shows SYS and then in a split second it turns to INOP. Thus the SYS button goes away. What do you make of that?Sounds like you have the side-by-side engine display option selected. That doesn't use the lower DU at all (except as a backup display), so no ENG and SYS page selection switches (replaced by INOP labels). With that display option I don't think brake temps are indicated.Kevin Hall Edited January 5, 201214 yr by kevinh
January 5, 201214 yr Author I notice whenI select side by side display on Page 7 of Setup /aircraft/display the sys button and eng button now read inop. They only appear when " Eng side by side disp" is offYeah, Kevin got it. That is the case. One other thing, since I fly the 2D panel, I'll never see the brake temp display on the lover display - correct. I do get it now on the lower display on the 3d cockpit with side by side de-selected. Edited January 5, 201214 yr by paulyg123 Paul Gugliotta
January 5, 201214 yr There is a click spot for the lower DU. Have a look at the NGX Intro manual, it will show you where. Steve Caffey
January 5, 201214 yr Hello; Is there a desplay for the panels being used? what I mean is that ia new to the 737800, I try to start up in cold dark cocpit; but I am not famialar with the cockpit lay out?? I have printed all of the flight manuals also??Can anyone direct me to the loacation ne.eded to be at ease on the flight deck?? Thanks in advance My email is as [email protected]
January 5, 201214 yr I would suggest using VC, however there is a location of clickspots in the intro manual. --Peter Fabian
January 5, 201214 yr Once you get it, you will notice that the 737 systems screen displays far less than the 747 does. There are no fuel, electrical, air, hydraulic or door schematics, but that is how it is in the real aircraft. Edited January 5, 201214 yr by audiohavoc Shane Gavin
