January 24, 201214 yr I just received my daily email of new files in the AVSIM library says that there is a new version of WOAI Installer 2.5 but it is not showing up nor on World of AI's website...I wonder what the changes to the new update are? Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit. Packard Bell imedia S3210. AMD Athlon II X 3 425 Processor 2.70 GHz. 3 GB RAM. External hard drive 1TB. FS9.1, Ground Environment, Ultimate Terrain Europe, REX, Zinertek's Ultimate Water Advanced & Ultimate Night Environment 2010, WOAI, MAIW, AES, ODG Project.
January 24, 201214 yr It's not a new update - it's just a fraud. When I processed the file I thought exactly the same thing but of course the ZipDiver won't show a virus as a "file" since it is embedded in another. I also don't use AI so I didn't test it.We then received an e-mail from WOAI saying it's not official and there have been reports of malicious material in the upload (See this link in their forum - http://www.world-of-...&p=56227#p56227 (Will only show up if you have an account with them))Sorry to disappoint, but there is no WOAI Installer 2.5.This upload was downloaded 628 times prior to removal - If anyone reading this downloaded it I would highly recommend checking your computer out with a virus scan!I speak for AVSIM and myself giving the greatest apologies for this inconvenience. January 24, 201214 yr I wonder what kind of a moron would want to hack WOAI, or AVSIM (again)? An Al Queda Flight Simmer . . .? Smooth Skies! -- Chuck B. January 24, 201214 yr For some reason a minority of people get laughter from the feeling of ruining someone's PC - in some cases perhaps their whole life. I doubt it was aimed to hack AVSIM and it definitely wasn't aimed towards WOAI - but anyway panic over. We'll never know!Let's just remember we're in a world which let Jedward become famous - anything is possible :( Sam Nicholson - UK Only just got back in to flight simming and Avsim after a year or so - pardon me whilst I find my feet again!
January 24, 201214 yr This is definitely a scam of some sort as WOAI have said they had nothing to do with the file.Don't know if there was an actual virus in there though. There's a lot of false positives with virus software with regards to FS files (Norton and McAfee can be pretty bad). All stuff uploaded to the library is scanned and if anything is detected the file doesn't go through. In all the years I've downloaded from the library I haven't encountered a virus. However 'better safe than sorry' so everyone who used the file, check your PCs - just in case.

ANYWAY, time for something to eat :( Sam Nicholson - UK Only just got back in to flight simming and Avsim after a year or so - pardon me whilst I find my feet again!

January 25, 201214 yr If you did D/L the file as i did check in your "hidden folders"It installs the exe.file "eSMU5cZKU1K.exe" in computer/c/users/your name/app data/roaming.Delete the file.

January 31, 201214 yr Sorry for the late answer to that topic, I just found it now after a lot of trouble with my computer related to this download. It seems that removing the malware is not that easy. If you read here (unfortunately only in German, is there any good translator available?)http://forum.avira.c...threadID=141276you will get an impression of that work I had to do to get my computer safe again. (At least I hope so.) Edited January 31, 201214 yr by GeyerH Harald Geyer Gründer der Messerschmitt Freunde Dresden v. V.
