I don't know why you guys are making a big deal about this. I do it all the time, and I have to turn off the "crash / damage" detection in order to get into the air... About the only time I don't have to do that is when I start on the active, and then there is no guarantee. :(

On the Dutch lakes there are some buoys called 'safe-water buoys'. Although they can be a navigation aid, they basically say 'there's nothing here you boat might hit, apart from this buoy'.
