February 9, 201214 yr Check SimMarket, guys.If you East geeks, just like I am, there is a new scenery of Lhasa, the capital city of Tibet:http://secure.simmarket.com/skysoft-lhasa-gonggar-airport-tibet-zuls-2012-fs2004.phtmlAnother gem after the long-time available Paro (with one of world's most incredible approaches):http://secure.simmarket.com/thai-creation-kuzu-zangpo-bhutan_paro-intl-vqpr.phtmlOff Eastbound....
February 9, 201214 yr Commercial Member Cheers Rafal, I have the VQPR scenery, amazing flying a raw data approach into that airport. Not sure if you are aware but Druk Air fly 3 modified A319's out of VQPR. Only 8 pilots in the world are trained for the approach in the A319. Rob Prest
February 9, 201214 yr When the pilots say "Holy s**t" and" s**t" on a visual approach, I think I'll ride the donkey in, thank you very much! :(
February 9, 201214 yr Author Rob,Yes, I knew about the Drukair airbuses. I've been following the approaches shown on some videos available in the net, like the one you linked. It is an amazing place both to land and to be in general. Exceptionally breathtaking views on the whole approach route. Only 8 pilots in the world are trained for the approach in the A319.I didn't know that! I knew there are places like Paro, Funchal or Innsbruck where you need special training to be allowed to fly, but only eight men, wow... :(
February 10, 201214 yr Looks nice! I wonder if they stopped making freeware sceneries and are focusing on payware now.
February 10, 201214 yr Author I wonder if they stopped making freeware sceneries and are focusing on payware now.It figures. We can finally thank them for their quality addons with some euro/dollars. :(
February 10, 201214 yr that approach looks INTENSE!!! Edited February 10, 201214 yr by flyinpilot212121 Intel I7 12700KF / 32 GB Ram-3600mhz / Windows 11 - 64 bit / NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060TI / 32" Acer Monitor, Honeycomb alpha/bravo, CH rudder pedals, Tobii 5, Buttkicker, Logitech radio panel.
February 10, 201214 yr Superb landing! Thanks for the heads up. I've always wanted to try the PARO approach and finally here's the scenery! Simmerhead - Making the virtual skies unsafe since 1987!
February 10, 201214 yr Any opinions on which scenery is best - Lhasa or Paro? I'd happily buy both but other non-sim things like buying food and paying the mortgage keep getting in the way of the real priorities - FS addons and a new yoke. :Money Eyes:It looks to me like the adrenalin rush from both these sceneries would be about the same so maybe the issue is which looks best and performs best? (I still think that landing Milton Shupe's Dash-7 on Aerosoft's Lukla is pretty pulse pounding too!)
February 10, 201214 yr Author Lhasa or Paro?Ian, if I really had to choose (both seem great), I would go for Paro.Cheaper, more famous, a bit better on graphics/visuals, and this incredible approach!
February 10, 201214 yr Ian, if I really had to choose (both seem great), I would go for Paro.Cheaper, more famous, a bit better on graphics/visuals, and this incredible approach! Thanks Rafal. Based on the screen shots, I was already leaning in that direction. Jeez mate, you keep talking me into buying all these great new sceneries. My wife's going to hate you... (At least I think I still have a wife - I spend so much time flight simming maybe she's just a figment of my imagination?)
February 10, 201214 yr Author I hear you, Ian. Glad that our wives cannot meet. They would definitely hatch a plot against us!I have also bought a few addons recently and I am awaiting the day she discovers it on our bank account... Edited February 11, 201214 yr by Rafal
February 11, 201214 yr I hear you, Ian. Glad that our wives cannot meet. They would definitely hatch a plot against us!I have also bought a few addons recently and I am awaiting the day she discovers it on our bank account... I'm much older than you are Rafal so let me give you some words of wisdom. You wrote "Glad that our wives cannot meet." When it comes to wives, never use the word "cannot." The only time you can use that word is in sentences quoting our wives telling us that we cannot do something or other. But when it comes to them, their cunning is infinite my friend and the word cannot is not in their vocabulary. Never under-estimate their ability to meet anywhere, anytime and conspire against us! LOL(Love your simicon - you are a brave man using it though. I hope your AVSIM password is well hidden mate!) :(
February 11, 201214 yr Author I hope your AVSIM password is well hidden mate! Now that's too scary to even think about! Advice taken, thanks mate.
