First full flight in the Citation X

Well, all I can say is that this is a great add-on. I have had so much fun with this aircraft, and I encourage others to check it out. After learning how to have the GPS fly the plane without actually bringing up the GPS, it navigated the plane just fine from Westchester Co., N.Y. to Asheville, N.C. I am unable to use the GPS because I will get a system error related to using this plan on the following system:AMD 1600XPNvidia 256 cardWindows MEWould like to see the NAV portion added to the FMC/FMS. One word of caution that I do not see specifically listed in the manual though:When using 'High Idle' do not forget to go back to 'Normal' when you are actually going to land and not going for the 'option' because it wont let you engage the reverse thrust. I found out the hard way...by burning up the brakes and going thru the fence!Eric T

I have the Citation X by Eaglesoft also! Man, it is terrific! Granted it is just a taste of the real thing, but still very impressive. I like all the fine details they went to. Just to see the Remove Before Flight strips swaying in the breeze is amazing!:)

Hi Eric.In regards to the High/Normal setting I have read somewhere (not sure if it was in the manual) that one should always use NORMAL to let the FADEC(?) automatically change from high idle to low at touchdown. The only time when one should use the High is when doing a planned touch and go. This will lock the high setting so that one have all needed thrust when pushing the throttle forward after touching down. I

I saw in the screen shots what you speak of as well as a red carpet and ground crew member with orange cones. How much of that is included and how do you remove the covers etc?

Hello,I agree about the addon - it is really great! I'm using it with a Project Magenta Regional Jet Glass Cockpit on a second display (Samsung 172N. This allows me to drop the entire cockpit display during flight and use my GOFLIGHT setup to control the A/C. Once setup, I switch to VC and now use a TRACKIR2 to fly until approach (The TRACKIR2) is a little twitchy for me! The little selection icon is visible so I can always call up a needed display (like GPS) when needed. My only problem has been that the addon is very twitchy about the throttle setting in the setup. I have had repeated ALARM BELLS in my headset until I get to the Yoke Setup and reprogram the throttle axis.Happy flying,Ron [email protected]

Nathan,Most of the answers you seek are in the excellent manual that you can download from the Eaglesoft site.I can't remember off-hand whether the carpet comes as standard or whether its part of the add-on scenery pack, but if it is part of the standard package it will be included in one of the 4 quality levels that you select.Alastair

Everything was included with the initial download.I have not flown anything but the deluxe option so far, and the aircraft is framerate friendly enough that I don't see any need to reduce the choice. The pretty girl passenger, TV, Red Carpet and girl radio tech are all included. You remove the streamers etc. with a light switch, As per the manual, the Nav Light switch is the correct switch, but I have discovered that the battery switch must be on for this to work properly. Other light switches have some effect as well. The wing inspection light switch will remove the streamers and covers, but turning it off will not replace them (Nav light switch does).Cones are removed and/or put in place by opening and closing the door, which also lays the red carpet.Wheel chocks are removed by releasing the parking brake. One side note in the event that anybody else had trouble finding this. At first, I did not think that the GPS could be unlocked as right clicking with the mouse is used to close windows such as this. If you right click the bottom or top edges of the GPS outside of the display windows, the lock/unlock provisions work in the conventional way. I had about grown stale on addon's particularly most payware, but I decided to bite on this one. I am glad I did and would hignly recommend it. If you are useing the FS2002 Gulfstream V and/or Dassault Falcon 50 (in FS9 also) and liked them, I think you will love this bird. (Of course they are great freeware aircraft for what that is worth).Happy flying:RTH

"On a side note, speaking of burning brakes and "opening" fences, I did just that by a more serious pilot error. The first time I was landing the plane I, foolishy, went to an outside view. I was fairly surprised when the spoilers didn

Let me start off with saying I'm a very happy owner of this bird now and am truly amazed by it. That said I can also say that for some time now, since 2002 I havent really flown anything but the 172. With now having the mooney and lear with a VC I started flying that and have even gotten into flying the robinson chopper. Since the default heavies and lear are very basic I really found more enjoyment just flying in the small a/c including the Curtis. Now with this Citation its a whole new ball game. HTere is no press Ctrl E to get it started and all the extras make the plane so much more enjoyable. I havent really taken it for a complete flight nor read all the manual yet but I am very excited to see that there are developers thinking out of the box and providing new a/c for us. Chances are I wont fly this thing more than a total of 10 hours from here on out but then again once I've taken the time to fully read and go over the paperwork I might give up the low fling VFR flights and enjoy staying busy inflight with all the great systems on the plane. Heck I might even check out some of these other heavies like the PMG 737 or whatever it is.In short this bird is great and all the extras are very welcomed. Money well spent and the bar has for sure been uped for planes to come.

Thanks guys....CAUTION! This airplane is very addictive:-):-)

May aswell come clean and join the "head down, mumbling to myself" gang....GUILTY !!!! :+ Ian EGPF :-wave
