Fellas,I started experiencing black screen while running FSX. Screen goes black while in flight, and i noticed that it happens when i start other apps with "admin priveleges" on win7 x64. I though maybe GSX was to blame since it start happening right after I installed it, but the answer i got is negative. Here are the pics also. Any ideas?Thank you.

Looks like you are short on video memory.I can't help but notice a huge memory hog, Macafee running in the system tray,Have you tried Security essentials instead of that resource hog?

Well first, the pics are not mine, I took them from another forum, which doesn't explain anything. so no i dont have mcaffee, i use nod32.

I also had these exact same black screens a while ago, and fixed them by removing ENB Series...

Are you also running FSX as admin?

I don't have ENB on my PC, and yes I'm running FSX in admin mode.

I have the exact same issue with FSX. Only seems to be with my PMDG stuff. It does not do it everytime, but it just goes solid black. Sound is still on and all other programs associated are still running on my laptop through Widefs. I was just hoping on finding some solution here. Any luck with this Ivan??

I'm in the same boat, with or without ENB series. Let's say I'm setting up the NGX for a flight, everything is ready, I go to windowed mode, fire up Radar Contact, go back to full screen and bam, everything goes black. Not to mention I can't even use any FSX menus during the flight, if I try to use FSX's map and come back into the flight, I might as well say good bye to my session. I have many add-on aircraft but this only happens when I fly the NGX.

This used to occur to me, and it can be fixed by using alt+ctrl+delete, and then pressing cancel on the screen which comes up. However, the cause of this is actually the d3d9.dll fps limiter. I recently removed it, as someone on the forums helped me to find out that it was the cause of my oom's (basically, the limiter didn't let fsx free up the VAS that it used up, so as I would land at multiple airports, I would eventually receive an OOM). Anyway, after removing this fps limiter, and using either the java, batch file based limiter, or the nvidia limiter, I don't experience these black screens with the NGX anymore.

does it happen when u change from full to wiindow mode if it does have u got the highmen fix in your fsx cfg's

@ Bruce - actually it didn't happen in a while. who the hell knows what causes it.

@ pete no actually it doesn't happen while switching to full screen mode. i don't even play in full screen mode.
