February 13, 201214 yr I was flying the ngx today and I was getting horrible fps and I when i fly the md11 with mcphat textures and I get really good fps but when I am in the ngx cockpit the fps are horrible. I have one of the best processors made and my full specs are in my signature. I'm not sure what to do? February 13, 201214 yr Commercial Member I think it's safe to say the NGX performs slightly worse than the MD-11 in most situations. You didn't mention what FPS you're getting that you think are horrible though, at payware airports with clouds I'll get 18-20 then 30+ in all other situations. There's a lot more to it than just having a good computer. Are you over clocking your CPU? You hardware looks pretty good so I assume you have already done most of the regular tweaks? There's no magic "good FPS" setting you can change, just like anything else in FSX, tweak and compromise. Noah Bryant
February 13, 201214 yr Same, would like to know what frames you are actually getting. I struggle to maintain 25-30 in the VC at airports like FSDT KLAX, but don't get any lower than 24-25. Those are actually exceptional frames in my book, as I get no stutters, blurries, or lockups at those rates....not sure if more than 25 is even needed..... William Sequeira
February 13, 201214 yr Disable Hyperthreading and run this if you haven't alreadyYou may want to overclock your CPU too, keep in mind that the extra cores in your 3930K won't help you in FSX so an overclocked I5 2500K will outperform that I7 in FSXI would not recommend LGA2011 for FSX since those chips overclock slightly worse than LGA1155's, and cost a lot more Edited February 13, 201214 yr by dazz
February 13, 201214 yr Use Low Res gauges for +10 fps Regards, Max (YSSY) i7-12700K | Corsair Vengeance LPX 64GB 3600MHz DDR4 | Gigabyte RTX4090 24Gb | Gigabyte Z690 AORUS ELITE DDR4 | Corsair HX1200 PSU
February 13, 201214 yr How to set low res gauges please? http://fs2crew.com/banners/Banner_FS2Crew_MJC_Supporter.png Wayne HART
February 13, 201214 yr Yes, setting lo - res gauges does work. I get excellent frame rates with the NGX although I do not have any payware airports.I run FTX SP4 Australia with REX2 weather with most settings set to dense. I get 20-25 fps on the ground and over in the air (sometimes it clicks over 100fps). I do have to be careful. If the weather is full on, I do get some skeletal airframe effects approaching Sydney but the rest is fine. I am very happy with it and would never have expected to get such performance with a dual core laptop. I run the Bojotes tweaks and lo res guages and turn off all non microsoft services via MSCONFIG.All this on a laptop with a dual core 2.66cpu with;4Gban NVIDIA GT230M card and that's it.How come far superior systems do not seem to get results commensurate with their greater horsepower?GerryI don't know what the emoticon is doing in this post! February 13, 201214 yr Author I get like 9-12 fps in the ngx when I am facing traffic in KSEA at a default airport. I have my CPU over clocked to 4.3 GHz. I have nivida inspector setup with an FPS limiter of 30. I have Rex 2.0 and ultimate traffic 2. I am not using any tweaks so if anybOdy knows some good ones that would help a lot. February 13, 201214 yr Bojotes Tweaking Tool does really help! When you have problems yet after using it, try tweaking you CFG or the small program Xtreme FSX PC V2 from FSPS. It really helped me!Cheers
February 13, 201214 yr Author thank you for the tweaks i will try them. Flys Cessna 172P, C206 Turbo G1000, DA-40XLS G1000, M20J, Archer III/11, Piper Cub, Beech Travelair, C177Check out my Youtube Channel http://www.youtube.com/user/md11pilot11/videosLiam
