February 29, 201214 yr Hello guys, just bought the pmdg 737 and i'm having some problems here.I used to fly with default planes, on them i just needed to adjust the autopilot and engage, that the bird could fly by himself (i didn't need to worry about nothing, just on approach and landind i deactivated the autopilot and start the approach manually, it's good because i could see the view from the sky).is that possible on the pmdg plane? if the answer is yes, how can i do this? because i engage the everything (altitude hold, speed hold, vnav, lnav) and nothing happens, i still on control of the plane.the second question is:Can i put the route generated by the fsx on the fmc?thanks guys, that's all. February 29, 201214 yr Hi,First off, read the manual. Seriously. Second, do you have one of the CMD modes engaged? And the flight directors both turned on?-stefanQuick edit: As for your second question, yes you can, if you enter it yourself. At least do the tutorial flight. February 29, 201214 yr Hi;Upgrading from the default planes to the PMDG planes requires some basic research on your part. What i would suggest is to follow the excellent tutorial included with your purchase and THEN come back and read the manual! It's a very complex airplane and it's close to the real world 737. Enjoy the experience!I'm not sure if *.pln (FSX save format) is compatible with PMDG's *.rte format. If you really want to improve your flight experience, start researching flight planner software and websites. There are excellent free and pay route builders out there. February 29, 201214 yr Hi maninpilot (sign your posts too),I was in the same position 5 months ago, and boy have I learned a lot! Like the others have said, I recommend the tutorial. It took me ~1 1/2 hours to finish on a Friday afternoon. Also, Tutorial #2 is coming out soon, so you can check that out as well when it comes out.Enjoy the NGX! It's definately better than that crap included with FSX. Also if you want, get the 600/700 expansion pack... It's very cheap for what you get, and you get to fly the awesome Southwest and AirTran liveries! (Not to mention, AeroMexico, KLM, United/Continental, Virgin Blue, and EasyJet too! And yes, they did sell their 737s. :() Edited February 29, 201214 yr by linux731 i7-6700K @ 4.5 GHz, 16 GB DDR4-2400 MHz, GTX 1070 8GB
March 1, 201214 yr Author everytime i finish the flight (esc -> end flight) the fsx always looks like that when i return to desktop:and there's no way to close or do anything with it, i need to close it with ctrl+ alt + del. this started happening when i installed the pmdg plane, is it normal? is there any way to fix? At least do the tutorial flight.thanks for the answer, i figured out that the mcp wasn't engaged, now is working like a charm. the only problem is that when i save the flight and come back later, it starts the 20 seconds "engine auto start", i was close to start the approach and this process ######ed everything, so i had to land manually. March 1, 201214 yr You can't use the route generated by FSX, I think. Just use Simroutes.com or Rfidner to generate one. i7-6700K @ 4.5 GHz, 16 GB DDR4-2400 MHz, GTX 1070 8GB
March 1, 201214 yr just do the tutorial flight a few times once you can master this without checking on it all the time than you can plan your own flights I7-8700k,Corsair h1101 cooler ,Asus Strix Gaming Intel Z370 S11 motherboard, Corsair 32gb ramDD4,, gtx 1080ti Card, RM850 power supply Peter kelberg
March 1, 201214 yr Author is there any way to put the pdf tutorial inside game (so that i don't need to minimize the fsx every time i want to look something in the tutorial) Edited March 1, 201214 yr by maninpilot Manin G.
March 1, 201214 yr http://code.google.com/p/fscode/wiki/PDFKneeboardYou can try it, but I wouldn't expect great performance. It takes a few seconds to load a one page approach procedure, can't imagine what 100 pages would do to it. Eric Vander Pilot and Controller Boston Virtual ATC KATL - The plural form of cow. March 1, 201214 yr I'd advise you to read the tutorial over once without flying it, then read and fly the second time. you can check out RouteFinder (http://rfinder.asalink.net/free/) and you can type in origin and destination airports, and it will build the flightplan for you. You could also get Vroute (Google it). There are free and payware (premium) versions. I think the free version will build the map for you, but you have to manually enter the waypoints in the CDU, but with the premium version, you can export it in .rte format for the FMC, and you can just load it from the CDU. Also, the premium will calculate fuel for you, and you can manually enter the required amount in each tank. Printing the tutorial is your best option, unless you have an iPod/iPad, android phone or tablet.Cheers Chidiebere Anyahara
