March 4, 201214 yr Author To be realistic... I seriously doubt 1/10th of 1% FSX users own Track IR...I've got a hat switch, that's how I flew since early FSX and previous releases. There's gotta be a way to do it. I'm sure it wouldn't be too difficult for MS. | My Liveries | FAA ZMP | PPL ASEL | | Windows 11 | MSI Z690 Tomahawk | 12700K 4.7GHz | MSI RTX 4080 | 64GB 6000 MHz DDR5 | 500GB Samsung 860 Evo SSD | 2x 2TB Samsung 970 Evo M.2 | EVGA 850W Gold | Corsair 5000X | HP G2 (VR) / LG 27" 1440p |
March 4, 201214 yr I do have it, I have used it, and I even like it! Unfortunately, wearing a hat indoors creeps me out, and my eyesight is so poor that I'm constantly having to move my head trying to see things on the screen, or I'll sneeze, or I'll cough...I've wondered if you ever got it working with the big screen or not? Last I heard, it was trying to get the sensor attached to the top.My experience with TIR was much the same and when FSX came along with mouse-look the TIR started collecting dust. So many people rave about it, but it just never worked out to be what I had hoped for.

March 4, 201214 yr Author I personally hate the hat. I bought the Track Clip Pro from day one and it has been superb. I tried the hat but it didn't work nearly as smoothly as TCP. Another key is to get an excellent profile. I use one called "Seth - Flight" available at the naturalpoint forums:(2nd post)http://forum.naturalpoint.com/forum/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=38618#Post38618 | My Liveries | FAA ZMP | PPL ASEL | | Windows 11 | MSI Z690 Tomahawk | 12700K 4.7GHz | MSI RTX 4080 | 64GB 6000 MHz DDR5 | 500GB Samsung 860 Evo SSD | 2x 2TB Samsung 970 Evo M.2 | EVGA 850W Gold | Corsair 5000X | HP G2 (VR) / LG 27" 1440p |

It took a couple of hours with some sheet aluminium and some screws.I personally hate the hat. I bought the Track Clip Pro from day one and it has been superb. March 4, 201214 yr Author I'll check out the Track Clip Pro. Thanks for the link. I've saved Seth-Flight.xml and will give it a go.No guarantees but I will admit that the first week of TIR5 was a bit rough for me... I didn't think much of it. My default profile was far to "snappy" and unrealistic, and frankly, made me a bit dizzy. Finding Seth's profile cured all of that. | My Liveries | FAA ZMP | PPL ASEL | | Windows 11 | MSI Z690 Tomahawk | 12700K 4.7GHz | MSI RTX 4080 | 64GB 6000 MHz DDR5 | 500GB Samsung 860 Evo SSD | 2x 2TB Samsung 970 Evo M.2 | EVGA 850W Gold | Corsair 5000X | HP G2 (VR) / LG 27" 1440p |
March 4, 201214 yr Good topic!I bought the rest of the islands, but I really want Track IR. That seems rather basic reasoning to me and a no-brainer.Kind regards,

Seriously, grow up!Hi Bill, just to be clear (in case your referring to me), I never voted you down! .... if you look above, I have the "-1" from someone now, presumably for challenging you ......but hey ho, I'll survive!I hear what you're saying about your TIR experience, but it's such a shame you never persisted, as it's truly wonderful once set up correctly. March 4, 201214 yr Toe breaks are being worked on for the first update push (time unknown)TrackIR? Don't hold your breath until more than 1/10th of 1% own TrackIR.Since you seem to have insider info.. Is there a list of items that is being worked on that you can share?
March 4, 201214 yr Moderator Other than what's been mentioned so far, none that I'm aware of. I do know that they are very busy trying to solve some of the more esoteric installation issues that some have encountered. It's just horribly difficult when you're dealing with three OS versions, and a darn near infinite number (well huge anyway) of hardware combinations. Throw in regionalization into umpty-dozen languages and......well, that should explain the picture well enough. Hi Bill, just to be clear (in case your referring to me), I never voted you down! .... if you look above, I have the "-1" from someone now, presumably for challenging you ......but hey ho, I'll survive!Nope, it wasn't me either. Since I still have a huge surplus of +'s in my quiver, I've just negated the negative......or should that have been accentuated the positive? I get so confused at times! Getting old just ain't no fun no more!!! :drinks: Fr. Bill AOPA Member: 07141481 AARP Member: 3209010556 Avsim Board of Directors | Avsim Forums Moderator
March 4, 201214 yr I want them to add more customization options for joysticks (null-zones and sensitivity settings etc). I know it can be done to a limited extent already by hand-tweaking the XML file, but it would still be nice to have it in the UI!They are working on it. From a dev over in the beta forums:"We did add axis controls for prop pitch and mixture in time for release. Brakes should be fixed in a later update, along with support for non-linear axis mappings."The non-linear axis mappings will fix the sensitivity issues around the joystick or yoke centerpoint without limiting control surface travel. March 4, 201214 yr I will buy the Hawaiian DLC when Microsoft gives me a Hawaiian Air 737-200 to island hop in. Todd Fleck
