  1. Yes, you could also say they are both DC-9's. From what the devs have said so far ATS is making the 82 and Rotate the 88... essentially the same plane.
  2. I have been following Parsec's (I think the group goes by ATS) MD-82 for a very, very long time. It does look promising but quite far off from release. Rotate's MD-88 pop'd up on my radar about 8 months ago and also looks very good. It is nearing beta and should* according to the dev be released sometime this year. I am eagerly awaiting both of them.
  3. Don't get me wrong, I would absolutely love a PMDG quality 75/67 and wouldn't complain one bit if they decided to go ahead and do it. There are many planes that I would like to see done in over the top quality, but if I had to pick one and one alone, it would be the MD-80, something about that plane...
  4. Since this thread is a bunch of wishful thinking, I will side with those who wish for a PMDG MD-80. I don't know what I would do with myself if that happened. While there are a few MD-80's on the market, none really put it all together. I know the probability of a PMDG MD-80 is tiny to say the least, it would get my vote anyways. Here a little MD-80 motivation http://youtu.be/7R0CViDUBFs
  5. Hmm, I have zero problems with DC-9 since early on, patches have fixed all that. My only knock on it would be the cockpit lighting could be a bit better, but that's a rather small issue and I'm working on custom fx's to help it a bit. There are pluses and minuses to both the CS737 and Milviz 737, they are two parts that if they could be combined would make a really good 732 sim. As far as comparing the CS737 to the DC9, the DC9 has all those little extras that put it in a different class and make it what I consider a more complete package. And as somebody else mentioned the support for the DC9 is hands down spectacular, Espen takes care of his customers.
  6. I wouldn't go that far. To CS's credit their L1011 is quite nice. I would agree with others that the Milviz 737 is a better comparison, it is nice too. I just wish they would fix a few niggles with the exterior model.
  7. I don't know, in my opinion the DC-9 is in a whole other league from the CS737, just way ahead. The DC-9 is also a joy and pleasure to hand fly, I don't remember how the 737 was but I don't remember it flying particularly well.
  8. KSP is very addictive, great game. I have made it too the mun twice, but have never made it back. 1st successful attempt to make it there and I crashed on the Mun, sent a rescue ship which also crashed, so I have 4 stranded Kerbals.
  9. Hopefully I will have it uploaded today or tomorrow. It will be a complete paint with the yellow interior also painted blue. Just trying to get the interior matched closely and perfect the metallic shine. Also working on a bare metal RV-6.
  10. First Flight paint! Carbon Fiber/Metallic Blue. I will upload as soon as I put some finishing polish on it.
  11. Just for information sake, I have the exact same problem. 0.9.4 will crash anytime in try to extract any livery; 0.7.3 works great. I am running Vista 64, haven't tried it on Win 7 or 8 yet.
  12. I am completely good with adding atmosphere to the simulator, just not gun and guts. I actually like Flight's ability to get out and "walk around"; adds depth and immersion. Taken to the next level, I think that could be a good tool to actually walk the plane and have random "failures" that can be caught during the walk. To me, there is a way to make civilian flight interesting to the masses and to the hardcore, the developer just needs to recognize the challenge and be willing to walk the tight rope.
  13. Ahhh.. was looking in the wrong place. I was looking in the main Flight directory. Yeah, I have the toolkit, still learning how to use it. Just reinstalled Flight yesterday after a year without it. I am a bit behind and have much to learn. Thanks!
  14. Just play GTA or Battlefield... I prefer not to have shooter mixed on the same plate with my civilian simulation. Besides you would be narrowing the scope of landscape down to an area not worth flying around.
  15. I have been searching and cannot find an answer, so if it is somewhere and I overlooked it, I am sorry. I was going to mess around with Flights' paint and realized I cannot find any textures other than the ones that came with the game. Where are the other planes/textures located? I have looked through the entire Flight directory and pak files, but keep coming up empty. Thanks in advance
  16. Fort Worth Meacham north approach, very early WIP. Custom buildings, requires (unless you want overlapping objects) MegaScenery Dallas.
  17. I used my yoke for about one day before buying pedals. Auto-coordination may work for some but to me it was awkward and broke the flight characteristics. I found that with the yoke alone and no rudder command lining up the centerline was just a frustrating, hair pulling affair. Constantly banking left and right to keep centered instead of just small yaw adjustments. I couldn't consciously recommend a yoke without the pedals. But, to each his own.
  18. Ok, I was just going off of what you had said. Regardless, I would still recommend Saitek. It is just up to you whether or not to make an attempt at using it without the pedals.
  19. Saitek makes decent products for a reasonable price. Been using their yoke/throttle with pedals for years. However, to be honest I wouldn't go for a yoke without the pedals. This would force you to you keep one hand on the yoke and another on a stick for the rudders. Besides, if all you want it for is an Airbus; you are already doing it correctly. Most airbus (A320 included) do not use a yoke, but rather a side stick. So, you are already doing it realisticly with just a joystick.
  20. If there were no FSL A320 coming I would go with the AXE, it blows BBS out of the water in most categories. Heck, even when the FSL version gets here I may stick with the AXE; it all depends on what FSL brings to the table. I would not bother with BBS, not the A320 anyways. They [bBS] do have the only modern A330 at the moment, however if/when AS gets around to making an A330 I will be promptly uninstalling the BBS version.
  21. Coin operated lock on the lavatory door... both sides.
  22. I admit, I have been coming to Avsim since the 90's and never really paid much attention to this section (was only vaguely aware of it). Instead of posting my "worst of 2013" here I will make some simple reviews of my payware library, good and not so good. Thanks both of you for pointing out this [for me] unexplored corner of Avsim.

    UACCUAWWA?!

Lol, thanks guys at least there is some sanity out there. I have never run across anyone until now that wanted to grill me about registration numbers and be so hostile regarding a free repaint. My entire point during the various emails was that if he wanted to know the reg number so bad he could just look, or perhaps run a search for AA's Susan G. Komen 777 and figure it out. Instead he wanted to blame me for not including it in the readme. Oh well, I guess you can't please everyone, not even for free.

    UACCUAWWA?!

I got an email from someone fanatically asking for the registration number of a recent paint I uploaded. When I told him to simply look at the plane, the reg is there he got very irate and then blamed me for not putting the registration number in the text file (among other things). When I asked him who he was with, this is the response I got: We are The UACCUAWWA United Aircrew Consortium assoc World Wide Ops. for short Pertaining to world wide flight assnmts We operate from single piston Private Commercial ATP, to the A380 and any and all of everything in between. That's why we need nothing ficticious. We bypass all the stupid garbage out there that we don't need. We are a real world system. I personally have never heard of this organization... consortium, whatever it is. Above is only part of the emails I received, but in the end I told him to never contact me again as everything he said was very bizarre, I even went so far as to change my email password and activate multi-factor authorization. I was just wondering if anyone has contacted in a similar manner or may know what the heck the UACCUAWWA is?
  25. Both the AA Susan G. Komen and the Delta Fix (replaced original download) have been uploaded and are available...
