March 9, 201214 yr Hi all, since I bought and installed UTX and GEX Europe (I'm also using REX 2.0), I get very low fps. I did everything how it's described in the manuals, installed UTX first, then GEX, defragmented my harddrive with the win7 defragger and did a test flight. While I noticed slightly increased loading times of the sim, there also were more stutters and a big framerate drop. Later I defragmented with MyDefrag which should be a better defragger than the win7 one, also recommended on other forums for better FSX performance... my &@($*!Loading times INCREASED even more and now I'm getting i.e. only 7-9fps in the PMDG 737NGX at a more complex but not that big of an airport!!! Turned the autogen density setting in flusifix down to 1800 each, trees and buildings (bear in mind, 3000 is default..), no change, turned UTX off, no change..Any help would be very appreciated since this bunch of **** software is really destroying my flight sim experience..RegardsMax
March 9, 201214 yr Commercial Member It's not the software, it's your computer. It can't handle it. Dial your level of detail down (via your FSX.cfg) and make sure you've set the proper tweaks. It's not the autogen, either. Autogen doesn't actually hit the sim that hard. It's the drawing of the mountains, terrain and coastlines that gets you slammed. Kyle Rodgers
March 9, 201214 yr Author The point is I don't understand why it got even worse after I defragmented with MyDefrag (since it's supposed to make it run better) and that most people don't get any slowdowns at all. I already toned down the graphics settings and I'm using flusifix for performance tweaking to get everything out of my machine..EDIT: Nevermind, fixed the slow loading issue by lowering the LOD radius, but still 10-12 fps :/

Sounds like coincidence (ie you aren't testing correctly). What are your system specs? (That's a little important) Also, turn off UTX night lights. ___________________________________________________________________________________ Zachary Waddell -- Caravan Driver -- Facebook: http://www.facebook.com/zwaddell Avsim ToS Avsim Screenshot Rules
March 9, 201214 yr Commercial Member Big thing with UT - disable the 3D night lighting during the day - it affects performance big time. And yeah as other said, defragging does not give you higher FPS, it's reduces load times and can help with stutters, that's it. March 9, 201214 yr Big thing with UT - disable the 3D night lighting during the day - it affects performance big time.Where is this found? I'm having similar issues to the OP... Increased loading times, and I'm getting maybe a 5 FPS drop. i7-6700K @ 4.5 GHz, 16 GB DDR4-2400 MHz, GTX 1070 8GB
March 10, 201214 yr Author My specs are: AMD Phenom 2 X4 B50 3,1GHz, Radeon 6870 1GB, 8GB Ram, Win 7 64bit. Haven't tried to turn off night lighting yet, I'm going to do this now, thanks! At least loading times are back to normal now but I'm still getting massive stutters sometimes :S Where is this found? I'm having similar issues to the OP... Increased loading times, and I'm getting maybe a 5 FPS drop.Open up UTX Setup Tool, select 'Night Lighting' on the right --> LMX Ultimate Terrain Night Lighting --> click on the 'Active' tab to disable it.

March 10, 201214 yr And there's the answer. No it is not. I'm running the same CPU (though a bit higher clocked) and I get a very steady 25-30 fps. Lukas "TIN TIN -=9th Shrek=-" Mathijsen
March 10, 201214 yr I'm running the same CPU (though a bit higher clocked) and I get a very steady 25-30 fps.And are you running extreme autogen and scenery settings with UTX and GEX? In the NGX? I doubt it. (maybe in the desert)No it is not.Anyway. Yes. It is. I'm not here to start the AMD vs. Intel stuff. ___________________________________________________________________________________ Zachary Waddell -- Caravan Driver -- Facebook: http://www.facebook.com/zwaddell Avsim ToS Avsim Screenshot Rules

March 10, 201214 yr Yes to both.Including the desert part. ___________________________________________________________________________________ Zachary Waddell -- Caravan Driver -- Facebook: http://www.facebook.com/zwaddell Avsim ToS Avsim Screenshot Rules
March 10, 201214 yr Including the desert part.*sigh* You can't be serious... Lukas "TIN TIN -=9th Shrek=-" Mathijsen
March 10, 201214 yr *sigh* You can't be serious...I'll let everyone else do what they will with the claim that you're running extreme autogen, scenery, and the NGX in any populated areas with a 3.7GHz AMD at 30 FPS. I can't take the claim seriously.EDIT: It's not a slight on you. I just have experience with your CPU and it's contemporaries. Let's not side track this thread! ___________________________________________________________________________________ Zachary Waddell -- Caravan Driver -- Facebook: http://www.facebook.com/zwaddell Avsim ToS Avsim Screenshot Rules
