Sometimes adding more people to a project acutally has a negative effect on efficiency. One has to be very thoughful and reasonable when making such a decision. But as an (very far out) observer, in this case I tend to agree: There are very well defined areas that should be worked on by some more talented freelancers. However, I still disagree with the statement "didn't get close to what was advertised" - yes, there are issues. But what Austin layed out in a post as "The Core of XP10" basically all is there. It's just not something you could call "finished". A work in progress. That's why in my posts I always said: "if you're new, wait for at least 10.2". So I very much understand the disappointments with the current state of affairs, although I have a more varied opinion myself.

3gb download, are you kidding. That's way beyond most peoples scope of download limits, there's no way I could have downloaded a file that size. Besides, the retail copy I got in the mail was no different than the demo, nice try with a comeback though. You want to make this personal, I wouldn't?
If it was really not possible for you to download the demo then perhaps you should have waited for reviews and customer feedback. You've been a member of AVSIM for well over a year, so you've had plenty of time to read over the X-Plane forums and ask people about their experiences. For that matter, around the time the demo came out, there were several lengthy threads discussing its good and bad points, so it was all out there if you cared to look for it. The point is, even if Laminar is guilty of false advertising (which I don't think they are, but whatever), customers still have plenty of opportunities to vet the product before laying down their money. But the's neither here nor there because none of it changes the fact that Laminar really is a small company that can't arbitrarily increase staff size, so when they say that they have to priotize features because of limited resources, it's a fact and not an excuse.Final note, it baffles me that you say you want to make this personal. Isn't that against AVSIM rules? Frankly, I'm not in the mood for whatever petty back-and-forth argument you're hoping to instigate, so you'll have to go yank on someone else's chain if that's the sort of thing you're looking for.

If 3GB is a problem I can only surmise that you are either one of the remaining few on dial up or are just trolling. Downloading 3GB on my ancient and slow 1.5 megabit (if I'm lucky) DSL connection was no problem whatsoever. The point is if you had downloaded the demo maybe you could've saved yourself some money - this coming from someone who has downloaded the demo but has not yet purchased.

Trolling, whatever, thanks for your input...... I've spent weeks inputting data into OSM to help the community, if all I wanted to do was troll, I wouldn't waste my time trying to do my part and make this sim better. It also doesn't mean I'll sit quiet and say nothing.MM, you were the one inciting a confrontation with your smart comments at the end of your first reply. I simply said I hope your not making this personal, I wouldn't, meaning I won't. Perhaps you need to read the posts around here a little closer, before you go spouting off as usual.Woweezowee, I can't disagree with your statements, I'll leave it at that.GlenEdit: 1.5megabit I could only dream. I'm not far from dial-up, and pay $70 a month for 5gb, but I really don't need to waste my time explaining this, a 3gb demo download is a joke no matter what your connection is. And I've been a member here for close to 10 years, I didn't visit here for a while, so it appears the ticker starts all over.

"Spouting off as usual," huh? And this is you not making things personal, is it?Honestly, I'm still not certain what you're taking issue with, but I apologize if you found any of my comments offensive.
The X-Plane 10 demo was available long before it ever went on sale, so it's your own fault if you made an uninformed purchase. Sorry about your luck.
Enough said....not worth anymore of my time.Glen

Glen,Just let it go. Each time you are just going to hear the same things from the same people. Enjoy what you have, hope for the best, learn for the future.

Really? That's what you consider a smart remark? I was being serious. You are rather obviously disappointed with the product you purchased, so literally, sorry about your luck. I'm genuinely surprised that you find this offensive.

What an absolutely ridiculous, unreal and ludicrous generalization. Do a random search through these forums (and any other x plane forums) and you will find the vast majority of people (Especially long time x plane devotees) in here openly criticize x planes shortfalls along with suggestions of emailing X Plane support and filing bug reports if they DO find something wrong.I'm absolutely stunned you actually did support for Activesky for as long as you did with that kind of attitude!

The issue isn't the demo. It's the product and it's publisher. NOT THE CUSTOMER.Do we know what or when we are supposed to get what was hyped by the publisher ?The issue isn't how big or small the publisher is; it's why they put out an incomplete, buggy product which by any reasonable measure would still be considered a buggy, incomplete product - THREE MONTHS after it's debue, with no concrete explanation of why this is so, nor any definitive dates on what the customers can expect !NO MORE EXCUSES ! DELIVER THE COMPLETE PRODUCT AS PROMISED and hopefully, I don't/won't have anything significant to complain about regarding the product promised/delivered, as long as they are one and the same.IT'S NOT COMPLICATED.

More empty talk from one of the same people repeating the same ol' lines tring to make this personal, even though it never works. Yawn.

Your reputation definitely precedes you, Jim.Going by the response I've had from several people, including 1 avsim staff member, I'd say you're the one with the empty talk.Your constant, erroneous, uninformed drivel is starting to bore more than just me.And if you want to interpret it as a personal attack, that's your problem. It isn't a personal attack. Your constant, exaggerated criticisms are damaging you enough. So PLEASE, keep going! You may be getting bored, but I haven't laughed so hard at someones misinformation in quite a while.

Double yawn.
