I wanted to see, how Alaska with the experimental (like in my thread Some experimental XP10 scenery shots ... ) higher resolution mesh would look like ... well, see for yourself (and don't ask me, why I have chosen Alaska :( ) :http://picasaweb.goo...Plane10AlaskaHD

Summer textures??ummmm....ok.http://picasaweb.goo...034894363019730http://picasaweb.goo...034874305222226http://picasaweb.goo...034886442658626Default FSX doesn't have real world AI traffic either. Their's actually quite a bit of work involved to get that data and put it into a flight sim. That's why it's a payware product in FS9 and FSX. And the latest blog post describes how airport buildings are coming...to add to Aerosofts airports that were included in the latest update. But of course, I'm sure you knew about all that.

So the free WOAI real-world AI Traffic doesn't count? When will XP 10 have real AI Traffic for free?

Seeing as X Plane has winter textures, as well as summer textures (something that has bugged you for a while now and you have nothing to say about it), and airports are getting populated, it's only a matter of time before we see further enhancements like real world AI.And no, the free WOAI doesn't count because, again, it's 3rd party. Freeware or not, it's 3rd party software. So Jim, I would like to read your opinion (because you're so respected in the flight sim world and I really value your opinion), what do you think of the winter textures? And the new airports that are popping up?

Do you mean like these winter textures?http://picasaweb.goo...034524167479106Or these?http://picasaweb.goo...034849511570114No, rc1 does not contain winter textures by default.Yes, 46 airports have buildings, one in the USA, none in Canada, none in South America, none in Asia, none in Africa, none in Australia. We'll say 300 airports per year divided by 24,000 airports is 80 years. You are right: it's all a matter of time.Oh, and by the way, those shots of Alaska are not default XP10 shots either. So what's good for the goose is good for the gander.

You do realize that Andras works for Laminar. I seriously doubt that he's doing all this work (winter textures) for himself. But hey, I could be wrong. I've been wrong before. At least I'm man enough to admit it. I have heard seasons are coming very soon. With regards to the airports, I have about 3GB's worth of freeware and payware airport scenery in FSX. All converted to X Plane. So my X Plane world is well and truly covered in airport scenery and buildings. 300 airports per year? If you mean "payware quality", sure, absolutely. If you mean generic buildings with SOME landmarks, then that's a very short and different story. That's what autogen and autogen libraries are for. It's obvious you're not an admirer of x plane. Which is fair enough.I just don't know why you keep coming back in the x plane forums.Very strange.
