March 14, 201214 yr Hi guys, apologies first if I should ask this elsewhere, but as I spend 90% of my chat time around Avsim it seems appropriate. It's a question I'm sure I've seen asked elsewhere, but cannot find an answer. It relates to the Shockwave Landing and runway lights I have just installed on the turbine Duke. They are fine when on the ground, but as soon as I get airborne and retract the LG, the lights are still present, hanging in thin air! Has anyone else experienced this, if so, is it something I have to accept, or is there a fix? Cheers... March 14, 201214 yr You will have to accept it, I'm afraid. Mine have been that way since installation some months ago. There seems to be no fix. Dan George (woodhick)Check out Greenbrier Aero Club, the VA for and about the GA pilot.

March 14, 201214 yr Interesting. I don't have Shockwave lights on my Turbine Duke and the landing lights and taxi lights work impeccably. I noticed there isn't an entry for either of those lights in the .cfg so they are probably part of the .air file in which case the shockwaves wont work. If you have the Cheyenne and have landing light problems I CAN help. The World is divided into two groups. Those who say "Give me a link" and those that provide the link. WWG1WGA
March 14, 201214 yr Rockliffe,Mine work just as they should in the Duke, and they do turn off when the gear is retracted. Do you have the retracting gear entry in the panel config file? From the Shockwave Lights Redux user manual:PANEL.CFGAdd the following line at the bottom of the [VCockpit01] section changing 'XX' to the next available numbergaugeXX=shockwave_lights!SW Lights, 1,1,1,1 //shockwave lightor if the landing lights are attached to the UC legs or doors and they go out automatically on the stock lights when the UC is raised then:gaugeXX=shockwave_lights!SW Lights_gear, 1,1,1,1 //shockwave lightKen

I'll try that entry. Thanks a bunch... March 15, 201214 yr Howard, adding those (ken mentioned) to Panel.cfg will fix that. But I am wondering, do you see another light under right wing only, or under left wing only (may depend on angle) when watch landing from tower camera ? I have this annoying issue with turbine duke with shockwave lights. I see correct landing lights, but also see another light under the right wing. You can see that on the ground as well. I just want to make sure, if it is a fsx bug, or something can be fixed. Regards. Salim Coban

March 16, 201214 yr Dang!! Had the wrong line copied in all this time. Dummy me :( Dan George (woodhick)Check out Greenbrier Aero Club, the VA for and about the GA pilot.
March 16, 201214 yr Nope, i spoke too soon. I inserted the (seemingly) correct line and now the lights will not stay on. If I click them on they kick right back off as if a circuit breaker were opening. Strange, but I'm back to turning them off/on by hand and having the lights stay on even when the gear retracts. Odd indeed. Dan George (woodhick)Check out Greenbrier Aero Club, the VA for and about the GA pilot.
March 16, 201214 yr It does work with a modified gauge file.first, lights in aircraft.cfg has to look something likelight.10 = 6, 2.10, -0.25, -2.0, fx_shockwave_landing_light_narrow // Shockwave lightlight.11 = 5, -6.2, -4.8, -1.5, fx_shockwave_landing_light_narrow // Shockwave lightlight.12 = 5, -6.2, 4.8, -1.5, fx_shockwave_landing_light_narrow // Shockwave light there needs to be two entries in the panel.cfg like thisgauge22=shockwave_lights!SW lights_gear_taxi, 1, 1, 1, 1gauge23=shockwave_lights!SW Lights_gear, 1, 1, 1, 1lights_gear is for the landing gear control, this is a stock file from a2a.lights_gear_taxi is a special gauge file for taxi light control, create a gauge file and point to it or place in the shockwave_lights cab filethe lights_gear_taxi file should contain the following:<?xml version="1.0"?>-<Gauge Version="1.0" Name="SW lights_gear_taxi"> <Update Frequency="1"/> -<Element> -<Select> <Value> (A:RADIO HEIGHT,feet) 50 > if{ (A:GEAR LEFT POSITION, percent) near 100 != (A:LIGHT TAXI,bool) 1 == && if{ (>K:TOGGLE_TAXI_LIGHTS) } } </Value> </Select> </Element> -<Element> -<Select> <Value> (A:RADIO HEIGHT,feet) 50 > if{ (A:GEAR LEFT POSITION, percent) near 100 == (A:LIGHT TAXI,bool) 0 == && if{ (>K:TOGGLE_TAXI_LIGHTS) } } </Value> </Select> </Element> </Gauge>shockwave taxi and landing lights will extingush with gear up. March 17, 201214 yr Author :( I did have everything working nicely, but for some reason, whenever I operate any of the other lights they switch off the landing lights... even the panel and cockpit lights have an affect!
