How can I place aircraft more precisely

Featured Replies

I'm using as much of MS Flight as you can get for free, and will no doubt download additional stuff after a while. Meanwhile, I'd like to poisition aircraft better, like at the end of a runway or at a terminal. At this point the only way I know how to do it is to move the airplane ion the map, and that is pretty inaccurate, or fly in and taxi-taxi-taxi. Is there a better way?Barney

None that I know of unfortunately. I hope Microsoft adds more zoom to the map so it would be possible.

You can position your aircraft at the end of a runway by clicking on an airport in the map and then on the runway number. But there is no ramp or gate position at this time.

Taxi to the desired spot and then save your position in a Free Flight mission so you can pull it up again. You will start off in the same state you saved in (secured, started, half secured). I think the trim positions reset however.

you can also reposition by walking somewhere, then using the map, going to the hangar, and selecting your plane. It'll appear where you were standing.

Another OH!! moment. That's how you get your aircraft unstuck if you end up partway in a hanger, or stuck in trees where you can't move. Post that puppy in the Tips section, would ya?Hook

Now THAT is something interesting. I don't think it will solve the problem of taxiing into a taxi sign at the end of a mission - we need some sort of push back for that but I can see if being really useful in some other situations ;)

The ability to place your aircraft on the ground, as well as in the air, would be nice. WIth accompanying hilarity if you do it on a moutainside, of course :).
