PMDG NGX - Engine Fan Textures

Featured Replies

I usually don't comment on stuff like this, but in my personal opinion the PMDG 747 had bar-none the best "High RPM" Turbofan texture I've seen. While the PMDG bird is stunning during the off and startup/shutdown animation process, I personally like the PMDG 747 texture/animation better. If someone were to port the texture style from the 744 to the 737 I'd download it, for what it's worth.

Take-offs are optional, landings are mandatory.

There's nothing less important than the runway behind you and the altitude above you.

PMDG should so make an update with a texture where the spinners aren't fully in tact. I like a little varitation in my life. Most of the 73's I've been on have had spinners that weathered.

Hi all:

The file is called pmdg_NGX_misc.dds, if anyone needs it I can change, let me know

I would *LOVE* to see some work done on the engines. This is the only part i dislike about the aircraft exterior and it just doesn't match the rest. The animation is terrible as well :(

You have my blessing on this one Marcelo

Pixelated or not, if the engine is running you don't see much anyway.

I'd rather them work on the 777 then worry about making a hot fix for textures that were taken from the real engine blades to begin with.

Nothing broken here imo.

I agree that the engine animation and also texture quality seems pretty poor.

I don't see any problem with the animation here. But I do think it's related to puter and

graphics horsepower as to how well they look. Mine look pretty good when flying normally.

But when I make a video with a fixed frame rate, as when using FSrecorder, they look

great to me.. That tells me, the faster the puter, the better they will look as far as the

animation side of it. I've never noticed any issues with the textures, but maybe I don't

look that hard at them, and I don't use super high resolutions that might make any

issues stand out more.

When I make a video, with a fixed 30 fps, they look very fluid to me.

If the animation stutters, or seems off speed or varies a lot, that is often the puter

graphics not be able to totally keep up.. Or that's my 19 cents worth anyway.. :/

My computer is very very fast, my graphics are excellent and the animation is poor as well as the engine graphics.

Any news regarding your updates on this Marcelo?

Hi Nuno:

Sorry, did not have time, within hours of sending the download link.

The measures of the file containing the textures is small. I modified it larger, but no photos on the internet to stay focused. Sorry there are no good

Honestly wouldn't care about this. I spend 99% of my time in the cockpit and rarely look at the outside model.

Yeah i know what you mean. I'm going to give it a try, see if i can manage. I will double the resolution (or maybe triple) and try to get some nice textures to fill in. If i come up with something nice i'll post ;)

Thanks a lot Marcelo!
