service pack

Featured Replies

guys,i have reinstalled my J41 as I experienced an awesome flicker in all quadrants of the screen, (no idea what causes this but it is totally frustrating having suddenly appeared and only on this acft). the version that I have is 10.1016.does this include sp1? I ask as the pmdg website under service updates does not show a SP1 and I assume that the version on the PMDG site includes the SP1.hopefully by reinstalling the model, I can eliminate that awful screen blankingthanksMel

I have 1.10.1016 and that was purchased just over a year ago so you're good to go. You don't need the service pack. For the screen flickering I think you need to load a default aircraft first then the J41. That's either in the tutorial or the introduction manual.EDIT: Added last paragraph.

Turn off the icying affect and you shouldn't see the flickering any more. This is a known and old issue, and it's the only way I've been able to eliminated.

I just always load the sim with a default Cessna the old school way. Hasn't ever cause any issues with me for the NGX or the J-41.

I know what you mean, once you get her flying how you like it's hard to stop. I honestly flew the J41 exclusively for probably 9 months or more. Definitely the longest run for any aircraft in my FSX hangar.

In the world of FSX, it's never a good idea to change the default aircraft to anything aftermarket. Just my $.02.

no still there but randomly. the issue was crashing of FSX on start up. I was advised that the best was to start fsx with a msft default aircraft and that seems to have done the trick as far as fsx crashing on start up if the J41 was the default aircraft. the windscreen flashing appears occaisionaly but setting the config to medium excluding the ice alerts seems to have stopped the issuehope that helpsMel

  • 1 month later...

i bleve that the flap detent is incorrect on the j4100 the numbers are correct in the cockpit but the simulation and flight characteristics seem wrong the flaps should be down more at flap 25 then is simmulated in the sim and the aircraft engines keep setting on fire even when the engine fire box is not checked in the configuration program what am i doing wrong.

the aircraft engines keep setting on fire even when the engine fire box is not checked in the configuration program what am i doing wrong.

Well I can think of a few things that could cause this....

1.Trying to start the engine with props in the feathered position.

2.Forgeting to move the condition lever from taxi to flight prior to takeoff.

3.Not monitoring engine exhaust gas temperatures.

Before you call for an SP, I suggest making sure you've worked out the bugs in the pilot first. No offense meant by that, but it seems that if you can't get it to start without setting it aflame, you're not doing it correctly.

If you're running Win7/Vista, make sure you're running the JS4100 config tool as an Admin.
