March 31, 201214 yr Anyone have this product? I am sitting on the fence because I am just not that sure how immersive it will be. Also, do the ground service trucks service the ai aircraft or just your own? Thinking of this or getting the only PMDG product I don't have-- the J41.Thanks!

March 31, 201214 yr GSX was the first airport-enhancing add-on I've bought, and like Word Not Allowed, I find it irreplaceable. It lends so much atmosphere to airports, it certainly aids in my suspension of disbelief. March 31, 201214 yr It is great, however, it would be more realistic if the animated baggage handlers hurled the suitcases onto the baggage cart instead of handling them carefully, especially things like musical instrument cases and laptop bags. :( Perhaps more importantly, can anyone tell me why the D/L link for GSX is not working, it either times out or downloads a file which is then reported as being corrupted. I lost some stuff in a HD crash, and this post reminded me to grab the file again, but I am unable to do that. Tell me if you know, once you pay the freight are there passengers that actually file into the aircraft, or do they remain ghosts? March 31, 201214 yr No passengers as yet though they were thinking about adding some in the future. None of the products out there at the moment from FSDreamteam and Aerosoft (AES) have animated passengers as far as I know. Might be something added in the future but you do have to think of frame rates etc. Plus would it be completely random, I think not, You would just see the same folks boarding all the time and would seem very repetitive. Personally myself I like to sit in the cockpit and hear the sounds of people boarding, see, the trucks around you doing their thing and thats good enough for me, the people part I can think about in my head.
March 31, 201214 yr I bought GSX when it first came out, love it, particularly now the new update includes the pallet loaders at the front and rear doors. I expect FSDT will add passengers later, I would have thought that FPS wouldn't be a problem as the aircraft isn't operating at the time, could be wrong as I wouldn't have a clue re producing this sort of thing.Al, that's a great video, never heard of Dave Carroll before, he has a new fan :Peace:Ray
March 31, 201214 yr It's the ultimate eye candy for ground ops. The push back features are fantastic with animated tugs and wing walkers. No more magical invisible pushback. On my lower end system I get a few jerks when the catering trucks and baggage tractors are in motion, but nothing I'm not used to on my system. I would definitely recommend it.Al, that is so very true. :( Chris Hicks
April 1, 201214 yr Author I really love GSX. I got it setup last night and watched as the action around the aircraft came to life. Very intuitive and not bad on the frame rates. The only issue I noticed so far is that the follow me truck took off and went offroading so I couldn't follow him. Not sure if that was just an anomoly with one airport. Overall, very happy!!
