April 6, 200422 yr Hmmm... Interesting that he says "Anyone know of another 737 by another company that works like it is suppose to for FS2004? Thanks, jerry"Considering this is one of the most accurately modelled 737 systems available in FS today, certainly for the NG series thats an unbelieveable statement borne out of frustration and impatience no doubt!Timhttp://www.flightfactory-simulations.com/h...B_testpilot.jpg
April 6, 200422 yr FYI - the PMDG support forum is hosted by AVSim. You can find it here:http://forums.avsim.net/dcboard.php?az=show_topics&forum=136
April 6, 200422 yr >>>>>A troll indeed, either that or the PIC and DF737 had enough slack in them to allow this "follow the instructions challenged" individual the ability to fly it... :) )While this procedure worked perfectly with the DF737 (Dreamfleet themselves admits that they are more geared to entertainment than realism, although I completely enjoyed their 737), the PICers should remember that no matter how many times you hit CTRL + E, nothing happened. No engine start. As a matter of fact, more than a few of us began doubting our purchasing skills......I literally printed out the entire manual and spent the next few weeks figuring out the thing. As for the PMDG NG, I don't know if CTRL + E works for it. I don't know because I didn't even try it.....haven't tried it in a long time with any aircraft. Also, I must confess that I have only glanced briefly through the manual....(when it was initially released, there wasn't much of a manual anyway, but that's all water under the bridge). Thanks to my extensive knowledge of the PIC767 and the DF737, I was able to fire up the bird the right way and do my circuit. So, if this guy has any working knowledge of the DF737/PIC767, then I don't think he would have made such a post about the PMDG bird.
April 6, 200422 yr If you just want take the 737NG for quick spin without the FMC load with the engines already running and you can be up and away in a couple of minutes. I do agree however that prior experience with the DF737 and the PIC767 gives you a head start.Bruce Bruce Bartlett Frodo: "I wish none of this had happened." Gandalf: "So do all who live to see such times, but that is not for them to decide. All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given to us."
April 7, 200422 yr Commercial Member Well I think the comment about the "GPS" not showing ILS beams is telling enough as to what we're dealing with here... I'm sure he tried to climb out in VS mode too. ;)Good luck finding a better simulation of a modern airliner! Probably should stick to the default 737 if you're not willing to actually learn the aircraft... Ryan MaziarzFor fastest support, please submit a ticket at http://support.precisionmanuals.com
April 7, 200422 yr >Probably should stick to the default 737 if you're not willing>to actually learn the aircraft... That might be a bit much! I'd say he should stick with paper airplanes....If that doesn't get me in trouble I don't know what would ;)
April 7, 200422 yr >If you don't have the time to spend half an hour preflighting>your aircraft and planning your route then heavies are not for>you. Ray, just to add my CHF 0.02:You're right on the numbers with your statement ;-)With the PMDG 737 NG and the PSS A340, the planning phase and lfight preparation is at least half the fun. The very involved preflight is one of the main reasons I'm buying addon jets and haven't gone back to any M$ default jet since. April 7, 200422 yr Man, did I hit a nerve, or what? No, In all of the 6 years I have been flying Flight Sims and on this fourm I have NEVER received such a feed back, good and sarcastic ( which is also fun, at times). Thanks to all of you for taking the time and effoft to reply. Your right, I should stick to the "default" B737-400 in FS2004 as I find the system, even as great as I know that they really are, just to complicated and frustrating to figgure out (for the 737-600/700). The FMC is way over the top for me. I have hit upon a happy medium: I replaced the panel of the PMDG 737-600/700 with the DEFAULT FS2004 B737-400 and now the engines start everytime, the aircraft pushes back to right or left, and the Garvin "GPS" shows the ILS approaches in "green" , I LOVE the airfile and looks of the 737-600/700, the "steps", but the more simple way of flight of the default 737 in FS2004. Thanks for all of the great feed back, but I'm happy with what I have now.One question though: I want to make a print of the PMDG 737-700. In what file within Flight Sim 2004 can I find the jpeg or bitmap of the aircraft? I looked for it but I could not find it. Since a photo of it displays when you select an aircraft, a photo file of it HAS to be somewhere. Again, thanks for your time and effort. jerry

When you select the aircraft you will see an animation of the model, not a simple picture.Regards, Tom.
April 7, 200422 yr Some of you guys are so rude!, he may not know how to fly the plane as well as some of you do..it can be a steep learning curve...it can be very frustrating as a newbie. Instead of calling him a troll and totally pulling him apart why not just tell him what he is doing wrong or if you are going to reply nastily don't because you have just become the 'troll'I think the comments from the beta team members on this thread are just downright rude..you really dont deserve to be testers with bad attitudes like that....your giving PMDG a bad rep.I am truly disgusted...you should be ashamed of yourself
April 7, 200422 yr HiI agree that not posting at all is preferable to posting such belittling tripe. To the original poster, you may want to look into joining a virtual airline. Some of the better ones have training captains that could help you get your head around the NG and are very nice places to talk about the hobby.Just a ThoughtTed
