FeelThere CRJ to be released

Featured Replies

If I was to develop a software and wants people to buy my software, I would charge based on the time consumed and etc, which is reasonable.Business doesn't decide much on the cost, the developer mostly decide much on the cost.

If the price is excluded from VAT (

System: AMD 7800X3D - Gigabyte X670 - RTX 4090 - 64GB DDR5 - 2 x 2TB SSD - 32" 1440p Display - Windows 11 Pro

I will pay for it if it is worth it. Like another guy said, high price and low quality. However, if it is as good as they say on paper AND has a FULL FMC capability, then I will get it. Will wait for some user reports though. I do this from now on and it has saved me from buying high priced/low quality, i.e., Aviogras's A340.

Showing prices not including VAT is pretty miss leading; I think it's best to wait for a review/feedback with new developers. I'm very doubtful they will have modelled a complete FMC etc..... lets wait and see.Secondly, if it's too expensive for your wallet don't buy it, simple. :-)

I just hope that a trend doesn't start with prices of add-ons going up and up.

Just lately I've also adopted the `wait and see` policy. It's saved me from splashing out on a couple of products that just wouldnt have been value for money, and a couple that may or may not, but by waiting until the euphoria has died down I find that I'm not missing them. So I didn't buy them. The only exceptions to this are from established developers with a track record in customer care and product support. In other words, they've already earned my money and my trust. As for upstarts (sorry `startups`)and their new releases, we'll just have to see. From what I've seen of the CRJ in screenshots the pilots perspective is all over the place in the 2d panel (do `persons of restricted growth` fly CRJ's? From astride the centre console?) and the external model isn't as convincing as POSKY's one. Maybe the FMS will compensate for that. But it is a heck of a lot of money for one plane from an unrecognised developer!Allcott

"But it is a heck of a lot of money for one plane from an unrecognised developer!"I don't consider FeelThere an unrecognized developer. Their first release--the ERJ--was a pretty solid release although it did not include a VC--but it was priced fairly and after I noted a minor issue, it was patched right away. It also showed modelling skill, and moreover they have hosted an excellent forum and solicited a lot of ideas and LISTENED to a lot of opinions on their website. In many of their previews, items would be noted that may have been off. Feelthere listened and incorporated as much as it could in the process. There are still vendors out there who'd rather argue up a storm. Sometimes the new kid on the block is more customer oriented and doesn't take the customer for granted.Still, I think the price is way too steep--especially when you consider the 700 and 900 aren't part of the initial package. I feel very let down--I thought FeelThere was going to buck the trend of the inflation we're seeing in add-ons. I participated in their forums and offered ideas to improve their product, as many of us have. I feel hoodwinked.... It was mentioned that the developer doesn't set the price--the publisher does. If that is true, I wish FeelThere had released the CRJ in the same manner as the ERJ. Throwing a middleman into the equation rarely benefits the customer--prices have to go higher for everyone to get their fair cut.I'm afraid they've priced themeselves to a point where many delaying a decision to purchase the PMDG 737 may in the end go that route. -John

The price of these payware add ons is relative I think. You have to ask yourself how many hours of enjoyment will you get out of flying it or how much will it enhance your flightsim experience. I've purchased almost as many payware aircraft as there out there and the only time I felt like it was not money spent wisely was on aircraft that I ended up rarely flying. I have over 200 hours in the PMDG 737 so I consider that a very good investment. How much would 200 hours worth of movie rentals cost you? Just my two cents speaking of money.Willhttp://www.precisionmanuals.com/images/forum/ng_driver.jpg

Fair enough question. Its not as much about price as it is value for the money.

They lowered the price to $29.95. They listened to those who emailed Wilco about the high price.

After a little time with this bird I have a few comments- First, frame rates are still a factor for me (P4, 2ghz) using the VC only model. I can probably smooth it out if I tinker long enough. - The VC is a little weird. You have to have VC graphics set to high if you want the overhead panel and other panels to look clear. The flight displays though are still way too small and far away to be visible. You can magnify the view or move the seat way forward but that distorts everything else. I use Project Magenta software so I will probably forego the stock PFD anyway even though their RJ software isn't a very good match.- The FMC is watered down in a big way. Even the airport database is limited. The first few airports I tried weren't in it. No approaches are in it that I could see. Most of the other bells and whistles are inop. It's interesting, though, to see a different system from the Smiths or Honeywell systems that are in most jets.- The engine displays are pretty well done and I will probably put them on my center monitor rather than use the Project Magenta engine displays.- I don't really care about the outside graphics but it looks fine to me.- Price? Well, I haven't flown it enough to say whether it is worth it and chances are I will be modifying it significantly to make it smooth and compatible with Project Magenta. It's certainly no "PIC 767", still one of the most amazing FS addons at any price. Still, I've bought other PC games for much more that ended up on the shelf and the Chinese food I ordered tonight came to almost as much and I'm already hungry again. If you are price sensitive, wait for a few more reviews and maybe some service releases before taking the leap. Still, I applaud FeelThere for doing something a little different and doing a reasonably good job at it.David

One thing to note is that teh FeelThere CRJ is designed to be "well-rounded" with regards to systems/functionality/ease of use. It was never meant to be compared to the PIC 767, which is a simulator in of itself. The FeelThere CRJ represents a good balance of what is mentioned above but isn't designed to prepare you for your next CRJ Checkride at Delta. Also, this is the first day of release and like all software some bugs will be present. Let us exercise some patience and give FeelThere time to fix any issues that may arise.:)

I feel the same way...software upgrades are getting too high.($40.00??.....$60-$70.00 for PMDG 737 is just too much for me)
