AS 2012 works fine with ngx?

Featured Replies

Works fine, disable turbulence or the autopilot will go nuts. I think there is a way to change the turbulence strength so it is usable, but I don't have it off the top of my head.

by turbulence you mean cloud turbulence and wind turbulence?

another question, i've already got rex, gex and utx. may i use all at the same time?

It's just "turbulence", you need to disable in the FSX weather menu, not AS2012.

You can use them all at once, but REX and GEX are redundant with AS2012.

OR you could read the AS2012 manual where is has it's own section which tells you exactly what to change in the FSX.cfg and FSUIPC.ini in order to get the best results out of the program.

I didn't get the AS yet. considering that i have rex and gex it's worth? i've read that is good using rex for textures and AS for weather engine, is that true? In case of positive answer, i really like gex, is there any way to turn off the AS ground texture?

Get it- AS2012 is totally worth it. Use AS2012 for weather, and then choose what you like better for textures. You can also mix and match textures between the programs.

Wait for the rex essential pack to come out wont be much longer, since you have rex already and its free to those who have rex already.Plus the rex essentail pack is going to raise the bar again in the weather progrmaning and textures

Since FSUIPC release 4.751 ( at least I think was the ver ) I have been using AS2012 without any altered settings in either FSX or FSUIPC and get no 'S' turns in either the NGX or PMDG747.

Regarding AS2012 I second the positive judgement before, at least as far as the weather engine is concerned. However, if there is a competition between textures and their quality I had to turn down the respective resolution anyway in order to prevent OOM errors in complex areas having a lot of AI traffic generated by UT2 when using the NGX. The alternative had been having almost no traffic at all. Consequently I'm using just AS2012 as it gives me the option of using compressed 2048 x 2048 Bit textures leaving enough memory space for other nice but demanding FSX extensions but offering a sufficient texture quality. REX is a good option when flying low and slow but it is hard to tell which textures are better. In most cases I shrink back when thinking about the loading time.

Axel

i totally think you should buy it, but i am having a problem with stutters when flying online at vatsim. so i wonder if anyone else ever got one of those.

Bought AS2012 today, the weather engine is really impressive and realistic! Didn't get any wind shift, textures are nice (but I am not a graphics aficionados), so it's perfect for me. The UI and the Xgauge are a little disappointing though. But not a single problem with the NGX.

They are doing a 30% off-price, so it's the right time to buy!

Manin G.

for turbulence problem try sp1 beta in as 2012.Well if you have a problem with climbing problem(with full throtlet speed cannot go up 170knots) in fsuipc - clear all weather and it will be ok :)
